Hmm... 33 points and 8 boards. I was just randomly flipping through today's box scores, and this just knocked me out. Kelenna? Who would have thought so?

His stat line: 39 minutes, 33 points on 12-17 shooting, 2-3 threes, 8 boards, 2 dimes, a steal, a block.

GSW's record when Kelenna Azubuike has scored 10+ points:

    2 wins, 10 losses.

He is a very good player, who just needed to get confident in his abilities and earn his way onto the court.

It is his play that allowed GS to get rid of Jason Richardson.

    He can play.

Did the Warriors think they could come back with the same team and still be competitive? I didn't think it was possible for a defense to be as bad as last year's Warrior's squad...

Remember me first saying Azubuike will be seen as a JVG dropout eventually who the Rockets missed? Bingo :)

The starting job is not new in the sense it has nothing to do with Stephen Jackson's suspension btw. He has been starting in preseason and even in practice camps. When Stephen Jackson comes back, Monta Ellis will continue to play behind Azubuike/Davis. He was also the reason JRich was freely traded.

One of my favorite players at the moment; check out his preseason statistics. Have him in both my fantasy leagues.

I had the same question. Last year's playoff win was a fluke and there is no way their smallball approach will work over 82 games. Unlike the Suns who have a post player, the Warriors will be on the wrong side of a lot of beatdowns. The Warriors are much too dependent on BD playing out of his mind to be taken seriously.

You should also realize most people didn't see them play much during the regular season when their defense was pitiful. Everyone remembers their keyed up effort against Dirk and the Mavs. Nellie has never coached defense and never will.

and we let this guy walk huh?

well it's only one good game. but he did earn the starting job. and as DD mentioned it was his play that made the warriors comfortable moving jrich.

29 other teams passed up on this kid. The Rockets really liked him, but they had way too many guards and were in need of some depth at the 4/5 positions, which is why Padgett made the team over Azubuike.
