First of all I would like to say get well soon Yao we will miss you big fella. That being said I would like to know if we make it to the playoffs and actually get out of the first round this year should we keep Tracy and our cast to make another run at it next year. The reason I ask this is because there are so many people here saying and assuming Tracy will be traded this summer.
I really like the combo of Tracy and Yao and really hate to see it end the way that it did. That being said I understand people saying neither can stay healthy and that we need for at least one of our superstars to be healthy for the entire year, but this year wasn't really bad after you think about it. Tracy's only injury was a legit injury and thank God we had no back issues. Maybe Yao should not have played so many minutes we don't know just like if we trade Tracy this summer we will not know what will happen under RA for an entire year. Let's give these guys one more year before we break them up, the supporting cast is finally here and we are now a lot more atheletic.

Let's be patient and relax guys it will come together in the end. I acutally see the light at the end of this long asss tunnel. Peace

I say we stick with the guys we have, but definitely pickup a solid backup C and another PF.

I think the decision is at least 50% health determined. Granted, Yao's had some unlucky breaks, but nonetheless, both have been considerably injury prone, and in the sense that it is just their bodies wearing down. Playoffs is all that matters, but now more than ever, just getting into the playoffs, you can't afford your star players to get hurt, much less both of them at various points during the season.

You can always get unlucky, but if there is an opportunity to improve the team, or even keep the talent level similar but get either more of it or younger versions of it, then you have to look at those options.

What's more, if you do make the second round of the playoffs, Tracy has likely had a great end of season / playoff run, and his value has once again gone way up. Chicago has a lot of assets to trade. Maybe Toronto for a resigned Calderon plus other (Bargnani)....who knows.

I'd be satisfied either keeping him or trading him. To date, I've been pretty pleased with the job Morey has done. I think he can handle this.

Keep him unless we can get someone of almost equal or better value. That's highly unlikely...Jim Cramer says this is a "Hold!"

I totally overlooked the 'if we make it past the first round' part. I wrote what I said not even contemplating how we do in the playoffs...so I'd definitely keep Tmac if we win one round.

I'd keep them together if we don't even make the playoffs, let alone get out of the first round.

If we do get out of the first round, though, I guarantee everyone will be all over TMac again, and everyone will be for keeping him. No way we get out of the first without him playing terrific basketball, and that will be enough for him to win the fans over... once again.

I personally am in favor of trading Tracy for this reason...he makes like 20 mill next year. I would rather that 20m be split up into say 2 good players than in 1 fragile T-Mac.

This isn't about tracy vs yao, but since they have been together or the last 3yrs yao will have missed 86games. Yao makes 13m is has a fragile lower body which will only get worse with everything else he has to do. Yao ming chineses connection doesn't equate to the owner going over the LT because of revenue sharing. U probably can get a little more for yao.

Can't this wait until the end of the season at least? It needs to be addressed, but not now. In case you didn't notice, Rox are in the middle of a playoff chase. I'm tired of the bandwagon fans, only boarding when the team is winning. Its been hidden by the money and business atmosphere, but at its core basketball is supposed to be fun. It IS only a game. Can we please have some fun and show some optimism?

Look alrite to be quite frank

I'd be happy to make the playoffs with Tracy. Because The west is so tough at the moment. I wouldn't mind making the play offs and be competitive in the first round. If we can go past that. Well that would be awesome

I really honestly believe that since we can not do it this year..we need to give this duo another shot...this year was the year...i know it in my heart..its just such a shame this yao injury happend...but next year is going to be big for the rockets and i think having Yao and T-mac together is the best thing..

i would like to keep them together. i am starting to get concerned about the injuries like most of you, especially since yao plays year round.

but if we can ever get a healthy team into the postseason, playing like we have been recently, we can do big things. i am not ready to give up on them.
add a piece here and there and we are good to go.

Keep them together regardless. It's not fair to judge Tracy with the team incomplete. Plus the team will grow more if it stays together. Let's use our expirings over the summer and get that bona fide third scorer.

I vote keep them together, regardless. I want to see both win a championship, together, as Rockets. I'm not going to let that dream go.
