"Mr. Alexander and I are fighting hard for the Rockets organization," Morey said. "Our goal doesn't change. It's to continue to make this team better. Mr. Alexander has a history of making moves and trying to get us in a position to make us a championship contender. That's what we're going to still do."

"We don't have any excuses," Morey said. "We're going to keep fighting and winning, and we're going to keep trying to make this team a team the city can be proud of, and get it back to being a championship-caliber team."

A LOT of people may doubt Les, I don't.

Some Rocket fans may whine and make excuses for the botched trade, Morey doesn't.

The 2 leaders of this organization don't make excuses. We got effed up by Stern and the NBA moreso than any other team in that botched trade, but no beep from this organization, unlike the Lakers (who are they to talk anyways, didn't they get Paul for a bag of Cheetos). That's why I'm not even mad, primarily b/c I wasn't fairweather about Gasol being our #1 guy anyways.

As long as our 2 leaders know the ONLY goal of this organization--winning a championship, then we should let them handle their business and just watch as fans. The ball will bounce in our favor sooner or later.

Good post. In fact, the organization and the players should use the trade fiasco as a chip on their shoulders, and try even harder.

Nice post. I really felt for Morey in that interview he was clearly frustrated and when questions about him quitting came up his answer gave me hope an confidence in him. It's the best thing that's happened to him and he clearly loves working for this organization. Keep at it Morey!!

I truly respect the vision of Les. To make the Rockets a healthy and competitive organization tanking or insane funding is definitely not a situation. It is always nice to have an owner like Mark Cuban. Yet, when I look at their balance sheet, I really wonder how long he will milk the team, and what will happen to them when he sells the Mavs. Personally, I will prefer an owner like Les who will step back and try to learn the management and coaching structure from the teams which have a stable and long term successful history.

Like the Us Against them attitude. I hope the team rallys around even those that were being dealt and takes the team to a "new level of confidence and power"(quoting Pantera)
