the ORLANDO MAGIC As of right now they are the THIRD BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE!! I live in orlando but im a rockets fan...but i get to the see the magic play and they are for real...they dismantled the hornets on christmas and broke chris pauls streak (fyi just for fun) but they also crushed the hawks last night and were leading by 50 points at one point!! I know they haven't proved much yet, but i think they really got a chance in the east...they have a lot of weapons and are pretty good against the west. I am curious to see how they do on this trip they have coming up, but if they do good, no one can write them off in the east!
magic don't impress me at all. They're a jump shooting team that is okay on defense. All teams really have to do is contest the jumpshot and make Howard hit shots over 2 hands straight in the air.
I'm not sold on the Magic. I'd compare them to the Hornets of last season. If Jameer Nelson keeps it up the entire season and does well in the playoffs, the Magic might make some noise. But right now, I don't consider them a serious Finals contender. As the season wears on, let's see. At least it looks like they won't make their annual swoon after a hot start.
Ok the pistons have had their number, but guess what....they have iverson now and not billups who was really the magic killer...the pistons are not as good as previous years with iverson so won't be a problem As for everything else, 29-8 is a damn good record....i think if they would play boston or cleveland in the playoffs it would be a toss up.
not true...last month they played 6 of 8 games against playoff teams and won 7 out of 8....would of been 8 out of 8 had they not lost by a point to phoenix, thats pretty impressive...but the the rest of this month they have some tough games so we will see where they stand come january 31st to be considered a threat to the east
People on this board won't ever give the Magic credit because of the yao v howard debate. Someonesaid they're a jump shooting team. Well, the rox are a jump shooting team without jump shooters. Adding Pietrus gives them atheleticism and size on the wing and their frontline is pretty good also. Their defense hs played a lot better and Nelson is showing scared ass rocket fans what quickness and speed can do to a lineup. They're a very good team, but since they play in orlando, they get overlooked.
They are a great team, but their bench is very shaky. Bogans and Courtney Lee? They need to get some depth. They added Pietrus which is a great move, but still not deep enough.
They actually have had the weakest schedule so far, tied with San Antonio... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/stats/rpi?season=2009&sortColumn=sos
No way the Rox have one of the easiest schedules so far. That's just wrong. Anyway, the Magic are legit. However, their offense is still unstable and we match up very well with them.
ehh...who cares. Celtics, Cavs and Pistons are all significantly better, especially come playoff time.
Ok, well here are a few more that have them ranked low as well. 29th 23rd 30th So if we throw out the ESPN rankings, which you find erroneous, then we're looking at an average of Orlando at 27th. Does the Magic having the 27th hardest schedule rather than the 29th or 30th really change the argument that much? I don't think so.
They need a legit PF and a legit 2 before I buy them. Oh and also... Howard needs to step up in the playoffs. Pistons shut him down with ease last time around. Magic have NO chance.
How can they be a joke? I see them getting better and better as the season progresses...usually they start good but end bad, but at this point in the season it usually already has happened, but thats not the case so they are for real
