    Landry Still Stalled

The Rockets' braintrust arrived in Vegas today and the word is Carl Landry won't be making the trip. The infamous MRI still hasn't been produced, and without it Landry will remain in his holding pattern.

The worst-case scenario for Landry would be for him to fall into the Anderson Varajo trap. Missing summer league is a huge blunder for Landry's camp, but if they allow this issue to drag on through training camp and preseason, Landry will lose much of his leverage as the Rockets have plenty of bigs to focus on. Mike Harris, for one, has been valuable to the Rockets during hard times and could be a player who displaces Landry in the Rockets' big picture. Joey Dorsey is also a real possibility. It would truly be in Landry's best interest to take care of business and get on the next plane to Vegas.

Regardless of the site cred, It still would be nice for Landry to play in the SL. After that injury, he needs to show that he can bounce back to full form.

i said a month ago that trying to re-sign landry would be an unpleasant experience for the team and its fans. imo landry has more to lose than the team. not going the sl is a huge mistake on his part.

i think it's possible that if our summer league roster plays real well (especially on the 3/4 positions), morey might decide to cut landry loose and use our mle (intact) to pursue some available f/a's before the training camp starts.

Rumor has Pacers interest in Landry, which I think it's false. Those sport writers just try to link Landry to Pacers because he's from Purdue.

I also doubt Buddy Baker can get an offer sheet for Landry. A newbie agent without too much relationships to GMs and his only client is an undersized PF. Forget about it. Buddy Baker isnt Mark Bartelstein.

It can be a long process. But Landry will be back with a reasonable contract and have his knee checked.

I love Landry - and I want to stay a fan - but this whole holdover situation is leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth.

    I know I know

I think so too, but the Rockets hands are tied until he realizes that....no one is going to offer him a contract unless they think there is a legitimate chance the Rockets won't match.....

Morey will sit on his MLE until the cows come home, you do not let an asset away, especially one where you have the control.

why? He is doing what he needs to...taking care of his business...and the rox are doing what they need to...in the end both sides will hug, kiss and make up...its not personal its business

Yeah for sure. He's just drinking the Buddy Baker kool-aid.

But the business of rejecting the MRI... I mean, just do it if there's nothing to hide! Otherwise stop being a thorn in our side while we try to improve our team.

Thats the thing, he's restricting our wiggle room for signing other quality additions - basically hijacking our MLE.

I just want this deal to be done with, hopefully not for the full MLE so we can move on to the next move.

CL will not play in any pre-season games without a contract. In a league where 'respect' is the byword the agent is creaing a respect-free situation for his client.

    Everyone will lose.
