I keep reading how these two are gone to make room for Howard or Paul. I think you must do whatever to get elite players, but role players like Garcia and Dellfino aren't a dime a dozen. I know what you think, why not? Because they are great spot up shooters, pesky defenders (especially Garcia) and they "fit." I really have a gut feeling that these guys are the stuff that contenders are made of. I want them to stay. What do you guys think?

they're a dime a dozen given that morey pulled both off the scrap heap for nothing.

Regardless, they're gone because it's harder to get the stud players, and you have to go after that chance when you can. Am I not recognizing the sarcasm here or something?

Carlos Delfino was on the Free Agent scrap heap, and Sacramento gave us Garcia for financial reasons.

So yeas they are a dime a dozen, and easily replaceable.

I've grown attached to both of them and they are such consummate professionals. I'd hate for either/both of them to leave.

Two similar players. We should keep one of the two, whoever comes cheaper.

I don't think we need both. I'd rather keep Garcia than Delfino tbh. Garcia's 3 point shot seems way more reliable than Delfino's and he's also a great defender too. I would keep Delfino over Garcia if Garcia will be garnering a large contract in the offseason, though.

Garcia is gone. No chance we pay $6.5 million for him. Not saying he's not a good player, but picking up his option only hurts our attempts to add another top player.

Delfino is a maybe, but I'm leaning towards no right now. Just depends on timing.

Both have team options... Garcias is way too expensive, so we definetly won`t pick that one up. Delfinos is alright, actually kinda cheap - but if it hinders us to get a star, we will definetly decline it as well.

Both of them might get offers from us later - but if we don`t resign them we haven`t really lost much. Those are great guys that help us a lot, but it is a lot easier to find guys like that than to get a superstar. So to get a star you do everything.

Oh and Morey has a great track record of finding those kind of guys...

    I completely disagree with you.

Role players ARE a dime a dozen.
and you must do everything you can to "make room" for a Superstar.

Both are definitely fantastic role players, but whether they're worth the combined $9M due next season is up for debate. (Delfino's $3M contract is the cheaper of the two, but he's injured. Garcia's due $6M next year.) In a perfect world, it'd be great if we can bring them back at cheaper contracts.

bench players who can shoot the 3 are a dime a dozen. Unfathomable that Morey would pick up their contracts.

5 star thread, I totally agree with you. I will only give them up if it were to get Lebron James, Kevin Love or other elite superstars. But Dwight Howard? No.

I'm pretty sure we will keep Delfino, we got him for cheap

However I THINK Garcia will cost somthing like 8 MILLION next year if we pick up his option

Sorry but we are not picking up his option for 8 MILLION so consider Garcia gone... well unless he decides to sign here as a free agent super cheap then I'm positive we would resign him if its a bargain deal

Lin should reconstruct his contract and take less to keep Garcia. To win games, you need a defender like Garcia who does all the work not showing up on the stat sheet.

I would just like to add, if we do resign Garcia on a bargain deal after declining his option..

I would totally trade 2Pat and the other guys for Garcia straight up anyday of the week. The fact we got a trade chip included is icing on the cake
