ok guys, i have a feeling only three teams are gonna win championships the next five years......portland, lakers, and whoever tim duncan signs for NEXT YEAR...... so in that much time, what do u think cato will be? will he be yesterday's nightmare, or, if things go as planned, one of the top 5 centers in the league (in 4 years)....i think only three other people are gonna be better centers, Loren woods, and tim duncan and alonzo mourning.....so WHY is anyone thinking of trading him unless u think u can land loren woods.......he's gonna be worth the pay, i'm sure.......but that's what I think.......i wanna know what u think, u think cato improves to what we wanted him to be or we'll trade him in some deal coz he'll be a bust......in my opnion, when he went up against shaq (pre-season), i saw something no other center has done all season, he was ACTUALLY competitive.....he matched up with SHAQ and i think no one can do that better........he's gonna develop innto something really great.....don't trade cato, he's the best against SHAQ and houston's hope of winning rings again.....cato, francis, mobley and hopefully dermarr will definately power houston to be contenders....... so once again, do u agree or disagree?
I would like to give him a chance unless we find someone better. but if his stock starts to drop to fast we gotta do something. we cant' let the maloney thing happen again. we gave him a big deal so he needs to improve because we won't win anytime soon if we have a lot of our cap taken up by a player that isn't worth it. i say give him another year to see what he has ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
I think this is my 30th time posting this but the Rockets must keep the Catomic Bomb. ------------------ I AM SPARTACUS
Hakeem is still the best Center on the Rockets. Even when he is breathing heavy. I want to keep Cato, and see what he has. We just need to motivate him. DaDakota ------------------
Foxsports.com on Cato and the Rockets: Teams that have inquired about Kelvin Cato have come away believing the Rockets are not interested in moving him. Cato has been relatively diligent in his offseason workouts, offering greater hopes for next season. But he also is just a base-year player, making it difficult to move him or to get as much as they might want in return. If the workouts indicate greater dedication, the Rockets might choose to give him another season. But there is a gamble. The longer they keep him, the more they must get from their six-year, $42 million investment and the more they risk allowing him to occupy cap space they need. The Rockets believe there is always a market for a big man. But that in itself might be a reason to keep the one they've got. http://www.foxsports.com/nba/hou/teamreport.sml ------------------
I think the Rockets should keep Cato. Cato is the best center on the team and he is a good shotblocker. The Rockets won't have a center if they trade Cato unless it is a deal to get a center ------------------
Despite his laziness towards the end of the season, I still want him to be a Rocket. He is a good defensive player, runs the floor well and has the most potential next to Francis. Not to mention he is the only real center we have other than Hakeem! ------------------ We need some meat in the post and I don't mean Brian Grant!
