Lupe's another Kanye biter, they try to be like him and when they fall short it's down the drain with their careers.
I enjoy them both but I do not really care for the direction Kanye is going in with his attempts at singing, especially with the auto tuner. It's fine for the hooks but come on.
Lupe's first album Food and Liquor is better than all of Kanye's albums to me, but every single one of Kanye's albums have been great to superb and arguably classic. Lupe just doesn't have large enough of a catalogue for me to say that he is better. His second album The Cool was great, but a bit dark for me towards the end. This is all a matter of opinion though of course.
I believe that was a one time deal. Hopefully he is done with autotune singing. At least Jay has christened it dead. *shrug*
I like Kanye's flow and corny style while I'm driving. Lupe is like deciphering the Dead Sea Scrolls to me. So many layers to peel.
While I don't consider them my favorite songs, I kinda enjoy the later songs on that album like put you on game. Unlike many artists who seemingly glorify that type of lifestyle, Lupe loathed it and you can feel the contempt in his voice. But I like Lupe best when he's floating a little bit faster and more free.
They are both really nice. Lupe doesn't get the pub that Kanye gets and it a damn shame because he is really good.
Dang it! Where have you been dude??? Anyway, here's my argument Bleezy, Kanye is a big baby and soap opera on stage but his first 2 albums were classics that can't ever be matched by Lupe.
