Anyone watching? I thought it was a night game. Anyway, there was just a horrendous no-call on an obvious goaltending. Texas currently up 18-15.
I'm watching, UT is hot right now. It'd be hard to beleive they can remain has hot in the 2nd half. I see Kansas State warming up and getting back into this game in the 2nd half.
Texas is putting on a shooting clinic right now. 11 makes in a row, and most of those have been from downtown.
What a first half by UT on offense. Sorry NBA GMs, I think Durant should be the first player chosen almost no matter who has the #1 pick. He was hitting NBA range 3 pointers off the dribble and some of his turnarounds were "NBA worthy" unblockable shots. When Kansas decided to take him out of the game, Augustine and Abrams torched them. If you ask me, Augustine looks like a top 7-8 pick. He and Durant on the same team almost isn't fair. Today so far, their complete domination reminds me of Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor at UConn. I don't know if UT can keep up this pace another 20 minutes. If they can, the game is over. Kansas' defense just isn't good enough to rattle them. Only fatigue can beat the Horns today. I look for them to short-arm shots later in the game if things don't slow down quite a bit. Certainly the double-OT game Wednesday will catch up to them.
We have a few decent teams here in Texas, but I just don't foresee any of them doing any serious damage come tournament time. The only exception might be A&M, I think they're a more 'solid' team than UT; I don't know how to quantify that, just my impression having watched both teams play this year...at least as long as A&M doesn't have to play TTU, which seemingly has their number.
imo, Kansas is the best team in the country, and to play them at their place on senior day is incredibly tough. I'm not too discouraged by this.
I agree. For a young Texas team to go into (hostile) Lawrence and come up just short of a victory is awesome. I'll take a 4-point loss. For now.
I guess you can look at it that way, but Texas better learn to play defense. The way Kansas shredded them the last part of the 1st half and throughout the 2nd half does not bode well for March Madness.
