Kansas Official Gets His Law License Suspended For ‘Dishonest’ Crusade Against Abortion Provide

The Kansas Supreme Court has suspended the law license of former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline (R), who made national headlines for his failed attempts to prosecute Planned Parenthood and Dr. George Tiller (who was later assassinated by an anti-abortion activist).

An ethics panel had determined that Kline, who served as state AG from 2003 to 2007, committed misconduct in his investigations of abortion providers. They found that he and his subordinates repeatedly mislead others, including a grand jury, to further his inquisitions. His “dishonest and selfish motives aggravate the misconduct,” they wrote in 2011. Kline denied any wrong-doing.

The Supreme Court Friday agreed with the panel, indefinitely suspending his license to practice law.
