Well they had a conversation about best defensive players in the leauge today.

Steve Smith had his fave five (Bowen, Kobe, Ron, Dwight, KG) and than Rick asked him about Wade and LeBron. Steve said of course they are playing a lot better defense, etc.

Than Kamla said Kobe is overrated defensivly. He said he thinks LeBron is better right now. Of course Smith dissagreed.

Well, I kinda agree with Kamla. Obviously Kobe is a good defender but he is not as great as they make him look like.

    What do you think?

I agreed with him, Steve Smith seem astonished though. I'm always irritated that people leave out Battier when discussing best defensive players.

    Magic Johnson my ass!

Kalma's favorite player is Kevin Garnett.. He just says Magic Johnson over the last couple of years so he can disrespect Kobe's game.. Find me one positive thing he said about Kobe over hte last 4years please.

He has never considered Kobe the best player in the league.

Huh...Kamla was the one who did bring the whole Jordan>Kobe thing to NBATV...his tone seemed to suggest a bit of a bias against Kobe.

Then again, he was completely right.

Kamla was orgasmic when Kobe dropped the 82, I don't know if he was faking it (no pun intended), but he did see quite excited..

I freaking hate Kobe Bryant, probably my most hated player of all time, I kinda agree that his defense is overrated, but it's waaaaaaay better than LeBron.. yeah, LeBron might have those highlight reel blocks, but as the name implies, they're "highlight reel blocks".. I mean, from the limited games I've watched (caught like 2 games on nat'l TV), he's an average at best team defender/on ball defender..

now, one guy who's defense is really underrated as a result of him not trying hard enough is our own McGrady.. who remembers when he single-handedly shut down Dirkendouche Nowitzki? also, in 04-05, I clearly remember him owning LeBron every single game we played.. IIRC, he had as sick block on him that one time, and he used to frustrate the hell out of him/get him in foul trouble.. if only that old Tmac would mysteriously show up, I'm not even asking for it right now, just in the playoffs, just for a month or so! please Mac! :(

How is it childish to ignore someone who isn't open to reason or fact? I haven't seen anything in his posts that are worthy of taking up space on my computer screen.

We have 3 of the best defenders on our team. If TMac decides to play defense, 4.

Jeff Van Gundy thinks LeBron is playing defense at an All-Defensive Team level.

I'll trust his opinion on this.

i believe that when Woe-is-Me first joined the NBA, he was known as a defensive specialist.

now look at him, he hardly cares.

Kamala is the man. One of the most underrated commentators and should be used on TNT and ESPN games. This is the one guy outside of Houston that believed in Yao.

If blocks and steals count for anything of course you have to consider that Lebron might have a greater defensive impact than Kobe. Wade as well. Maybe those guys gamble more and lose some, but they win plenty too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe makes the 1st team defense team this year though, if only because the media/NBA wants to keep him in the limelight seeing as he will be distant in the MVP race and not 1st team all-nba, where CP3 & Wade will take the guard spots.

Since the Lakers are going to take the WC record easily, and Kobe is their best player, they will glorify his "defense" and "team attitude" all season. Just watch.
