I like the squad Kahn has put together, add another top 3 pick + Rubio and I think they can be a playoff caliber team in a few years.

Lolwut? I think all Kahn meant was that the Wolves are stacked with enough young talent and will begin to move forward with their plans to become a playoff team next season.

This is this idiot's idea of talking up his players before the deadline. Except everyone's probably just laughing at him.

Great. Lets trade them some vets for their playoff run, next season. We can give them JJ, Battier, and Miller.

I'll bet $100 they fail to make the playoffs again.

If he's done rebuilding, I wonder if he regrets trading Al Jefferson.

    Ricky Rubio
    Wesley Johnson
    Michael Beasley
    Kevin Love
    Darko Milicic

    Johnny Flynn
    Martell Webster
    Corey Brewer
    Anthony Tolliver
    Nikola Pekovic

I would say he has put together some decent talent.

Darko would be benched in the East behind Shaq and Zydrunas and in the West behind DeJuan Blair and Bynum.

The same goes for the rest of the squad with the exception of Kevin Love. They are bench players at best for a playoff contender.

Outside of Love and maybe Beasley, can you point out this "decent talent?"

That's quite a stretch. They are at least a few players away from being legit contenders

I agree. I know Minnesota has been a laughing stock since they came into the league, but for whatever reason people love to pick on Kahn, but I don't think he's doing too bad of a job. He chose right when he moved Al Jefferson. Clearly Love and Jefferson couldn't co-exist and Love is thriving now.

He acquired Beasley for pennies on the dollar, and while I'm not convinced he's the long term solution at that position, I'm sure we can all agree that his trade value has increased exponentially since he left Miami. Either he'll work out with Minnesota or Minnesota will trade him and probably get considerably better value than they gave up to acquire him. That's a win.

He received all of that heat for his comments on Milicic and the contract he gave him. Well, Milicic is living up to that contract. He's having a very solid season. And, go nuts on me if you want, but after the way Darko has played this season, I don't think Kahn's comments were even that far off. You guys can keep knocking Darko if you like, but the fact is I WISH we had a young and improving 7 footer like Darko right now.

The verdict is still out on Wesley Johnson. We don't know how the Rubio situation will unfold. And I'm pretty down on Johnny Flynn. Still, I think Webster, Brewer and Pekovic are decent bench talent and all still young. Frankly, while I wouldn't trade franchises with them because I prefer Les and Morey to their owner and management any day, I would gladly trade rosters. Love is already a franchise player. Rubio, Johnson and Beasley could all conceivably become franchise players to borderline all-stars.

Admit it. If Morey had that roster, you'd all feel pretty good about our chances of becoming contenders in the next two to four years.

p.s. I take his comments that they are done rebuilding to mean he thinks he has put together the core and now just needs to continue adding complimentary support pieces. I don't think that's absurd at all.

The underrating of Wes Johnson on this board is hilarious.

In fairness, Kevin Love is so much better.

Beasley is looking like a nice trade. With a really good draft and Rubio being what everyone thinks he would be..they should be a playoff team in 2013.
