Mike Kahn, who has seemed piped in to Rox in past, says: http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/6366438 Pistons assistant Kevin O'Neill and Sixers assistant Mike Woodson are strong candidates to replace fired Lenny Wilkens as coach of the Toronto Raptors. The Nets Eddie Jordan also is a candidate to become a head coach, with Cleveland, Atlanta, New Orleans and the Los Angeles Clippers all considering new coaches. B]There also is the possibility that Jerry Sloan may retire as the Utah coach and the same goes for Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich, who is battling bladder cancer with treatment at the moment.[/B] Jeff Van Gundy, who resigned from the New York Knicks in December of 2001 and has been in the broadcast booth since then, continues to be the top name tossed around in Cleveland. So, IF Rudy does bow out, or is outed, who will be left for Rox to consider if decision is dragged on. And on. And on and on?[
Soup Commander is growing roses in his garden, the tallest one is named Yao, the biggest one is named Norris. How touching
If Rudy retired, all of the above names would be possibilities. I'd say the Rockets would be the preferred job by far for any of those coaches, so we'd have our pick. Or, Rudy won't retire/get fired until September and we'll be stuck with leftovers.
The open jobs will start being filled soon. If the Rox do make a move, but not soon, it could ensure Smith or Boylan moves up.
