Call me crazy but can you imagine this as a starting 5

    Sura/T-mac/Battier/Cato/Yao

That is the tuffest team in the league by far that I can think of.

Yes you heard me right, I said Cato~ he is a FA, JVG loved him and with Swift leaving our PF needs help, I just KNOW we are going after Cato.

Now I understand Sura won't be back so don't count on it. Maybe MJ?? He has desire, Alston.

The point is, the 5 listed above is a JVG team by far and if somehow SOMEWAY those 5 end up playing together next season and JVG still can't win that shows everyone his gameplan is flawed and we need to go a different direction. BUT if somehow someway those 5 do play together I even think that would be a badddd team to mess with

    Sura(dont count on it)/Alston/MJ(maybe)/
    T-mac/Head
    Battier/Bowen
Cato(I just know he will be with us call me crazy)/Howard/Novak
    Yao/Deke

MJ , Sura and Head could run sg-pg combos

T-Mac and Battier can run sg-sf combos

Cato can run a pf-C combo

I really like that team, MJ annoys me but I hope we can somehow nab him and Cato. MLE and TE? anyone know if those two would do the trick?

Cato is a lazy ass and way too slow.

He is definite not a JVG-type-player.

How can you say that? Cato WAS a lazy ass UNTIL JVG came, then Cato became a beast. JVG loved Cato and in the T-Mac trade he was the only one I didn't want to see go.

He was our bruiser and any Rocket fan that saw him play through the JVG system knows he fit perfectly and COMPLIMENTED Yao perfectly as well, we all saw it so we know it's a working formula.

Like I said, If those 5 ever play that is a JVG Team, if he can't make a winner out of those 5 creating the tuffest team in the league then it is flawed and we need to go after the best players and not the tuffest or JVG would call "defensive"

Cato is too injury prone now, no way we get him.

I would take him for the Vets minimum but nothing more if he is physically fit and mentally ready to play.

What I' am trying to figure out now is what type of team are the Rockets looking to be? Gay and Swift along with T-mac, Alston or James would of given us a speedy, up and down line-up. Adding Battier makes this team even more of a half-court team.
