Simply put, do you want JVG to stay or go?

The last poll was right after game 7....hardly indicitive......so now that we have had time to cool off and think about it.

Do you want a new coach or have JVG here for at least one more year?

Also, who would be your top 3 choices.

    Me?

    1. Rudy T
    2. Adleman
    3. Del Harris

One more year. Hopefully our stars can play nearly the entire season this time. Pieces need to be added, PG and PF, but I think stability is a very underrated aspect in sports.

If JVG retires, I'd like to see what Adleman has to offer, Del Harris would be a nice fit too even though he's been a very defensive minded coach in the past, aside from his last stint with the Lakers.

Rudy T is done coaching, I think he's in a happy place right now.

if he stays, he willl improve deffense again and ensure that the ROX are a one dimentional team, forbid the bench from playing, prevent free agents from seeing HOUSTON as a place where they want to be, and finally dissapear on the biggest stage.

    no need for another poll

    JVG needs to go

you should have done a poll with potential coaches

    my suggestion is Adelman

I voted to have him stay one more year but he will be gone and Del Harris will be our coach. Span will get to play, CD, Dream and anyone else who want's to help Yao will be allowed into practice and Del will "put on his happy face" for the Houston Media.

Amel, DaDa, and OMR just need to have a threesome and get it over with. Their constant agreeing and spouting of the same arguments is more than a little disturbing...let alone their obsessive hatred of JVG.

I think alot of you know how I feel about the make-up of this team. And that JVG is the perfect guy for the type of players we have on this squad.. On the flip side I hate the way the teams plays because it isn't the coach but the fact that our team is not althletic at all,has no Heart and Passion ( Yao + Tracy )... Only way I would want to trade JVG is if we had a team like GW or Phx..

Here is a question for you guys? Would you replace JVG with Isaiah Thomas who has had a horrible record for the past 4+ years? I mean seriously Isaiah gets a contract extension because he had a better loosing record than last year loosing record?? That doesn't add up at all....

So to sum it up, JVG is perfect for this type of cast... Believe me when I say I would be the first one to post a FIRE VAN Gundy NOW thread if we had a different kind of team..

rooting for someone's departure, especially when they have done an admirable job, is never a good thing. Be careful what you wish for, it just might come true.

I think JVG is a damn good coach and is more than capable of taking this team where it needs to go. He's made mistakes, just like everyone has in their job, but overall he's been above average. He needs more firepower than he currently has.

However, if he has to go.... My choices would be as follows

    1. Adelman
    2. Iavoroni (sp?)
    3. Del Harris

Wouldn't be happy but would accept - Mario Elie

    Never - Rudy
    Never - John Lucas Sr.

He won't stop. I mean, his post rate count went up tons when we failed to reach second round. It's amazing. You won't find a topic about JVG without his post in it.

well, if these are the guys that are perfect for jvg, but you dont like watching these guys, why do you like jvg? its no coincidence that these are the type of players we get now that jvg is the coach. we do need roster changes, but we need a coach who wants more than hard-work out of his players. if hard-work were all it took, we could grab 8 rabid fans off this bbs who im sure would work themselves to death if it meant a championship.

The problem is we HAVE these guys so unless you're calling for a complete overhaul we should pick the coach that fits the best with these types of players which at this point seems to be JVG.

Four years he can't even win a playoffs series, why do you think one more year will make all the differences?

How much is the possiblity that JVG can coach Rox into the Finals next year?
