On KILT 610, JVG was quoted as saying Moochie's effort has been outstanding, that he had been really impressed with his efforts in the preseason and that you can tell he is really taking the game seriously.

If he can turn around Moochie and make him into a real backup point...

I will totally forgive the organization for replacing Rudy.

Thanks Jeff. Well I'm glad Van Gundy said it. I was at the Spurs game and it was the only preseason I saw, and I thought Mooch looked as bad as everyone has said.

I guess he's done some good things in practice.

Man, I'm going to have to officially retire my "except we need to cut Moochie" asterisk if this keeps up. :D

He also praised Mooch on Rockets.com:

“I’ve mentioned Cato (Kelvin) often,” said Van Gundy. “I don’t know about being a surprise, but as he continues to get in better shape, he’ll add more and more to our team. ” I’ve been very happy with Moochie Norris’ effort level. His effort has been outstanding. I think he is a more serious dedicated player right now. And that is just what we need, serious dedicated players.

I think I've got a name for Moochie's bench... with he, Cato and MoT all reportedly in the best shape of their careers, looking lean, mean and ready to win, there's really only one thing that comes to mind.

    Bizarro Bench.

"Cato am worst center in West! Moochie much more bad than last season!"

So, using the "praise them and then trade them" rational, Cato and Mooch are gonna be dealt. The only questions are when, with who and for what. ;)

What if Moochie becomes an All Star but we end up last in standings at the end of the season? ;)

Anyways...Moochie...I guess he was kinda rusty on the first game. He is on and off...I guess you have to remind him to do things like play defense or do something besides standing there dribbling the shot clock away..but sometimes he is great and makes shots and is quick and get cross anyone...It is good to hear he has cut his weight to 179! Only 8% body fat!

I would still trade Moochie and the 3.6 million he makes a year though.

With that in mind, I have it on good authority that Moochie's off season regimine has been so amazingly effective that he is now more athletic than Vince Carter, a better shooter than Peja, a better defender than the Glove, handles the rock like WHite Chocolate, but without the turnovers, and dishes like Kidd. He is also kind to animals, children, and old ladies, goes to Church every day when he can squeeze time in between his extensive workout routine and his almost constant charity work, and was recently described by pat Riley as " almost too intense and focused on basketball."

Coaches don't make players good R2K. Moochie was already a good backup point; that's why he was signed.
