    nothing significant said.

he and lance talked about how nice it is to have vets like Deke and (yes tinman) Juwan Howard.

JVG also said he does not micromanage every shot taken. likes to give players freedom on the offensive end, as long as they play hard and share the ball. If they are working hard to get open looks, then they have to take them.

someone else please fill in the blanks. I know they talked about more.

JVG and Lance discussed Rafer's shooting woes in the first half. JVG mentioned how proud he was of Rafer for sticking with his shot and eventually finding it again in the fourth (as he always seems to do). JVG also mentioned that Rafer has become a much better player with regard to being able to shake off a missed shot or a bad play and continue to move forward throughout the game and not let his frustrations hamper his ability to play.

Van Gundy can talk about Pitino all he wants. But the offensive freedom and the decrease in micromanaging of Van Gundy's offense here in Houston came after he and McGrady talked in McGrady's first season when we got off to such a horrible start. Van Gundy opened up the shots and quit micromanaging at that point. He is still highly structured on both ends of the court. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

most of the shots Rafer misses are open shots. when there's a tight d, he makes them.

Rafer is still arming his shots and not using his legs enough. You can almost see the miss coming before the release when he dead legs it. And his spot up seems to have gotten slower and slower as the season has worn on. He does not have enough lift. I do not know if his leg injury from last year is still having a lingering effect on him but his jump shot does not look the same way it looked when he shot so well in his first stint in Toronto and then on to Miami. I wonder if Thibodeaux or anybody is working with him on his mechanics. His release seems okay. It's his base, lift, and the arms that are the problem.

You sound so confident in your statement, are you an insider or just to stubborn to admit you (like many others) have been wrong?

lovin the part how JVG is encouraging TMac that this is his finest hour of his career to carry the team. Comes to show the respect they have for each other and how Tmac is responding and seriously in attack mode.

now PLEASE drop 82 against a GOOD team like the Jazz, or Dallas or Spurs. that will definetly silence those kobe > tmac critics.

yeah...and a new tmac highlight clip of him carrying us to the playoffs would be nice too. :)

I absolutely agree with JVG that this could be T-mac's finest hour. Tracy's taken a bit of a back seat the past year and a half with his injury troubles and Yao's emergence, but now he has a perfect opportunity to come back and shine.

And once we get Yao back, this team'll be unbeatable if they can both bring their "A" game.

Good to know. Rafer sometimes is down on myself in the game so much that it destroys his game.

Didn't he miss over 60% of his shots in Miami and Toronto also?

since when does shooting under 37% from 3 considered well?

League average is 35%, so if you consider above average "well", then that's what he's doing.
