they just started the caller questions.....Im sure someone is noting the questions and answers for yall.
Nothing to earth shattering to report. - they talked about the addition of Rod Strickland and how he is coming into NBA shape and seems to be improving - Talked about the upcoming Sacramento game and how they are playing really well now. And how well Cutino is playing for them at the backup point guard. - he kicked another callers but in that five question contest they do. he got 3-5 correct and was wrong on the other two but real close (they were number answers) - talked about Lebron James and compared him to Majic Johnson based on his immediate impact to a team and the stats he is putting up so soon after coming into the league. Thats all I can remember, was working and trying to listen on the radio at the same time.
for all the trade heads... there was the same ol' "no team is complete until they arrive at a championship and that they're always looking to improve their team, BUT at this time nothing is in the works.
a caller also asked about the PAdge to Yao pass.. VG says that it was understandable that YAo wasnt ready for the pass since he had been really keying on tryin to get the offensive boards that might, and when he saw Padge leave his feet like he was going to shoot..he immediatley was readying to be in position for the board...says that Padge started to take the shot and saw Yao open and decided to pass instead...but unfortunately Yao wasnt ready for it and bobbled it out of bounds(paraphrasing) Is also very pleased with the defensive intensity and speed of Wesley. and the penetration of Strickland...says that Strickland can hepl us quite a bit with his play once he gets back into playing condition.,
That to me is a rebounding technique flaw. One is supposed to look at the ball until the last second the ball leaves the shooters hand for at least two reasons; 1. To anticipate the flight of the ball. 2. To react well in case it is not a shot rather a pass ala Padgy's case. In the first case, it is hard for someone like P-Ew to teach it as well as say a Mo Malone could. Yao needs to improve his stamina no doubt but when it comes to rebound he also needs to improve his technique and fundamentals in spite of his impressive 8.5 rpg.
It was easy to read Padgett's lips as he ran down court "Catch the F'N ball" - and all this time I thought the official ball of the NBA was Spalding, not F'N.
