in context of talking about pre-game meals. said he was told not to get the fries, but did anyways and liked them. really? the fries aren't that great? he talked about them for quite awhile. i couldn't help but wonder: isn't that against broadcast rules to give free advertising for franchises.
Fries definitely taste different than the average fast food variety. I didn't like them much at first.
Got a chance to try In-n-Out when I was driving through California earlier in the year. It was just meh. Wasn't really impressed at all. Never ended up trying Whataburger. We wanted to, but didn't know it was Texas-only, and by then we had moved on and it was too late.
From the pictures, it looks like In-n-Out has much better fries, but I don't see how they're burgers could be much better than Whataburger. In the end we're still talking about burger chains, and no truly good burgers come from burger chains. If you want a real hamburger, go to Christians or Lankford Grocery.
In N Out fries are from fresh potatoes they cut right there, unlike most fast food frozen stuff. And yeah, animal style is heavenly. btw, isn't this thread supposed to be in Hangout?
I think it's an insult to even think Whataburger burgers are on the same playing field as In-N-Out. It's not even close. Whataburger burgers IMHO aren't even that much better than Burger King or Sonic or one of those generic fast food joints. I believe Whataburgers just cost more.
Someone tell JVG that In N Out has a stipulation that In N Out franchises have to be in a certain distance from the distribution plants so that's why no In N Out in Texas and NY. And distribution plants prolly won't open up in those areas cause the produce comes from CA mostly.
