    You can say that again.

P.S. The only people I see complain are the same groupd of vultures from last season who will pray for Rox to fail to fulfill their dark ways. The prospective projection remains that these Rox will keep the date with at the very least the second round of these upcoming playoffs. Beliebe it! [sic]

P.P.S. If you are a vulture (and you know yaselves), please go away and come back after our surefire successful season.

I don't know. We just came off a 5-1 road trip and were playing pretty good it seemed. Now, after one horrible performance, he's talking about changing course.

How are we going to change course? We scored 76 points Sunday and hit 81 points tonight and our defense went in the toilet. We played with Deke for most of the game Sunday and our defense was good, but we were playing a poor performing Laker team. There is no way that we can hang in this league scoring 80 ppg. So, what's going to change? Where are we going to get the points?

It's obvious that the opponents defense is going to double and triple TMac to get the ball out of his hands. And it's obvious that he isn't going to get 20 assists a night to make up those points. The guys on the floor are having to work too hard to get their points even with the McGrady double team.

How are we going to change course?

I'm worried after tonight. We lost to the one of the bottom 5 teams in the league, at home. Yao's gone for a couple months. It's obvious to me that if we are going to maintain at least a .500 record during this span, we've gotta bring in some offense from somewhere. And I was one that thought McGrady may be able to handle the team by himself.

I think JVG is asking for a trade.

I don't think we'll see anything more than very minor moves until everyone gets healthy. I think we have most of the pieces if Sura and Alston get back, and I think the Rockets may feel the same. They at least want to see this whole unit together before getting rid of anyone.

I have respect for you Fegwu.

I am not complaining about JVG. I am a Rockets fan 1st and foremost. Rocket team success is my interest. I am OK with JVG and want us to succceed as a team. I never called for his (JVG) firing, nor did I celebrate Rudy being fired in the past.

JVG is trying to encourage and push the remaining players to not give up in the near future. We cannot wait on injured players coming back to resume the success that has been ours on the road trip. Be that some added help in a trade to help in the middle, or encouraging the players we have left to pull together.

We should all support him now - JVG does not have much to work with. His earlier quote in a different thread held the theme that we do have the talent to continue winning. This was a note of encouragement. If we fail we fail, but we continue to put forth effort. I hope we perservere and win.

Bill Worrell, on last night's broadcast of the game, said he "will be out 6 weeks and, then after that, who nows."

I would love to see JVG change and improvise the way he is coaching.

That would be the best change of all.

Yeah, JVG should just NOT-coach. He should come into games with a Dang'ol hawaiian shirt and jeans and just kick back.

Let the players just play the game (I mean it couldn't get any worse right?).

    Dang'ol.

I don't see it saying we need to make trades, but more as changing our gameplan and strategy. I don't think it's fair to the players to trade them because of our injuries this year, nor would it be wise to try to get other players to come in just to win a few more games than we would with what we have. I do think it would be better to adjust our play according to what players we have now rather than make them fit into a system they'll have trouble making successfull.

The only players we have that can create in our current offense are Tmac and Yao, while the others rely on them to take advantage of other teams doubling them. With either Tmac or Yao out, our offense is not well suited to exploit these opportunites because opposing defenses are getting too much time to recover after doubling our one superstar on court. Hopefully we see JVG change strategy right now or we may be in for even more ugly basketball.

That's what I got out of it. He sounds like he's basically trying to rally the remaining squad and say you can't just wait for everybody to get healthy - you have to fight for wins with what you have, and now is the time to do it; before you run out of time.

You can strategize and draw up all sorts of clever humdingers in the sand all you want, but it's all for naught, if you can't put the ball in the goddang basket.

The Toronto game we were dominated in the paint. They had twice as many points in the paint as the Rockets. That doesnt happen often when we have Yao and Mutumbo. Yao's absence has changed things up, we rarely went inside. what we're doing is pick and rolling most of the time, and it's working to an extent because guys are doubling Mcgrady and leaving other players wide open, but they just have to knock down the shots. I mean if you can't knock down wide open shots I don't see what other strategy you can come up with that's going to be worth a damn except the strategy of praying that your better players start coming back or a GM saves the day with a trade offer that we can't refuse.

My reasoning for coming up with a new strategy is because we're not hitting the shots we're taking. It's not a one-game anomaly that they're not making shots, it's rare when they do. Thus, what we're doing is not working. Why not come up with a new way of playing to get different looks? Perhaps play a faster, more transition game instead of the slow-methodical offense we have now? If you think what we're doing is working, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
