Novak is shooting 26% from behind the arc this season.

Novak hasn't shot that poorly since 3rd grade.

The problem is, shooters like Novak need shots and minutes. You can't just sit reggie miller on the bench all day, bring him in 1 minute for the game winner and expect him to perform. He needs rhythm!!

After this game, Novak is averaging 2.6 minutes per game. In that 2 minutes, he knows that if he misses he is going back to the bench for another 45 minutes. That is no way to play the game.

If JVG would just give Novak a few 35 minute games in a row to let Novak play, it would do wonders for his confidence.

JVG either needs to use Novak legitly or trade him, it doesnt do us any good for a rookie to come into the game during overtime when the game is on the line after he has been sitting the whole game.

JVG is using novak like a late night booty call, and then gets pissed when Novak isnt into it all the time.

come on stop blaming on JVG. This clearly shows why Novak isn't ready offensively or defensively.

You're not serious right? Novak needs to earn those minutes. True we're spread out at the 4/5 but Padgett (sad to say) should've had those minutes Novak was playing.

Novak is a great player. His plays are really drawn out with Yao in the game. Mumtombo or JuHow not gonna draw any attention so its going to be harder for Novak to make an open shot. And like I posted in the other thread, his shot really hits from the baseline, NOT from the elbow. Poor guy was shooting recklessly, and to be honest, anyone shooting for the heck of it shouldn't be getting 35 minutes for a few games.

    And that includes Rafer too.

The NBA players must be as rough as those 3rd graders on him. They are only allowing Novak to shoot 26%.

TIME~~ please. after JL3 works out finally, we will see Jeff give Novak more and more time with the time going.

Do put ur eyes on one game lose or two, good news is Novak know we all pissed off, and we will see what he will do then. ;)

JVG gotta find a way to get Novak's shot on a role again! Novak's got to gain his confident and skills back! With 2 open shots, man that should sank in!

i love novak and he is getting some meaningful minutes, but he had played enough up and down the court to get warmed up for the shots he took. they were wide open shots that he should/could usually make but he did not tonight. he will get better the more experience he gets. i dont think coach has anything to do with him shooting so poor of late.

luther's "slump" is something a bit more troubling though

I'm pretty much a JVG hater, but this thread just doesn't make any sense. No way you can blame JVG for Novak sucking. He was given an opportunity in meaningful minutes and he blew it. Its that simple.

Novak's defense was not good. He got shoved around by everyone he guarded.

NOvak has gotten his chances throughout the season. He was in the rotation to start it, and he blew it in game 1 vs. Utah.

Play him 35 mins? Are you crazy? That's more mins than Yao! And comparing him to Reggie Miller? He'd be lucky to get to Keith Van Horn status.

I like how JVG has been using him. Once Kirk and Bonzi get back, Novak's gona be inactive for the rest of the season. Scott deserves his minutes.

No, I don't want to see the Padgett trash any minute on the floor, who is just another version of head-less RB.

I don't like JVG. But I think this time he did the right thing. Give young talent players time to grow. Novak need time and pressure to find himself and get back his confidence after horrible play.
    No pain, no gain.

Here is how JVG try to develop rookie: stop playing him for like 7-8 games and then insert him in the clutch time and expect him to perform.

Gosh! It must be really tough to be a rookie and play for JVG :(

I totally agree with this. Not only has JVG ruined Novak, he's also at fault for global warming and hurricane katrina. FIRE JVG!
