JVG called TMac #2 2 guard right now & saying Manu + Rockets vs TMac + Rockets, no way Manu can do what TMac has done for us on our 18 wins.

Mark Jackson called TMac #3 cuz no one is close to Kobe. Then thats when JVG vs MJ going back & forth. Then MJ saying Manu can get out of 1st round to which JVG says "I have a rebuttle, but it would be all bleeps!".

Van Gundy "Mac second best 2 guard in game"

They just asked Jeff and Marc Jackson who the five best two guards in the game were and Van Gundy had Tracy second. Marc had him fourth behind Manu and an empty spot after Kobe.

Jeff went on how Manu couldn't do what Mac is doing. Then he said when you look at the numbers, Manu is having a career year while those same numbers would be an off year for Tracy.

You gotta love Jeff for his honesty, he doesn't go with what's popular or in.

manu does not draw the defensive attention that tmac draws. he can't draw double team in the high post by just standing there or posting up. his only way of drawing double teams is via penetration.

and he gets more open shots in a game than tmac ever has (he already has 3 open spot up 3s in the suns game w/ no one around him)

i wish he really does come out of the first round this year so analysts and "experts" could stop using that against him though.

Marc Jackson is a dumbass, but he's kinda fun to listen to.

Manu Ginobili could never lead a team out of the 1st round. Ever. If you even ask him to play more than 35 mpg, he starts falling apart.

That's funny, because a week or two ago JVG said Ginobili was the second best 2-guard in the league ("Is it even a question?").

Can we just make one big JVG quote fest thread lol?

There's about 3 or 4 others quoting JVG for today's game.

Tracy McGrady got better over the last week or so... He seems to be getting his legs back-- the Js are falling and he's rising high on dunks. Couldn't do any of those earlier in season.

BTW, do we need a "Dedicated Thread of JVG's Comments on Rockets"?

I mean, how many threads do we need every time he talks about the Rockets?

these were manu's stats in the playoffs last yr

    16.7ppg, 5.5 rpg, 3.7 apg, on 40% fg, on 30mpg.

let's be real, he can never avg 38-40mpg. his stats look good b/c he isn't guarded like the best player.

if he can win a ring on those weak stats, jackson is sayin he can lead a team out of the first round?

    winning can sometimes OVERRATE you.

Manu would have led the Rockets past the 1st round, guaranteed, huh? He's a good player, but he's not T-Mac.

    No.

Can we have one and only one for Charles Barkley? No. He says too much for one thread to contain.

Or one for EVERY time one of these has-beens brings up the fact that Mcgrady's never been out of the first round?

If Manu played as many minutes as T-Mac, I bet he'd be putting up better per game numbers. Just look at what he did in February, when was playing 37 mpg because of injuries to Tony Parker.

Would he be as productive in this system? That's more difficult to say, but I think he could be.

T-Mac is obviously a better player but at the same time I really think Ginobili would average 25 PPG if he played on a different team. Just being fair.

Strange, just a week ago JVG said on TV that Manu was the 2nd best SG.
