http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/4363906.html sidebar to the main story HOWARD'S HURTING Rockets forward Juwan Howard, who struggled with a bruised abdominal muscle on Saturday before leaving the game in the second quarter, went through only the shooting portion of Monday's practice and is questionable to play Tuesday. With Kirk Snyder (broken hand) and Bob Sura (knee rehab) inactive, Bonzi Wells could make an appearance on the active roster tonight, but that does not mean he would be active. He worked out Monday, but coach Jeff Van Gundy said Wells' status has not changed. ``If Juwan says he can't go in a game, you know he's hurting,'' Van Gundy said. ``He's been very durable here. I don't take it lightly that he missed the second half (on Saturday).'' Sounds like Bonzi may suit up but should not expect to play.
Nice to hear bonzi is working with the other Squad members. i think activating bonzi is gonna motivate bonzi to get fitter. look at shawn kemp, he was 310 pounds 3 years ago and now he is at a pretty good 254 pounds.
how did juwan get injured??? it seems he was fine then suddenly in the middle of a match he was reported as injured
Yes... keps at 254 pounds. i saw his halftie award he recived at Key arena. he is in terrefic shape. he can easily be a very productive big man for a contender.
shawn kemp, had serious hops... he may be overweight... can we blame the guy he is like 100 years old....!!!!!
Word was that he was kicked somehow in practice on Friday and thought he was fine until he started playing (I can't find the link at the moment... maybe someone can help me out)
You buy low and sell high. That's how you make money. The great franchises sign good players to cheap contracts and they trade away their high contract players when they are starting the decline. Bonzi is a bargain. You don't trade bargains, you sign them. Juwan could be a good trade, not Bonzi. What more can you get for $2 mil? THe mark of a good franchise and coach is incorporating all types of personalities and making it work. THe upside to Bonzi's situation is his low contract and making it work here, not trading him for Ryan Bowen. You trade Bonzi or any other player right after they go off in the playoffs and you think they are likely not to repeat that performance, not when he's sitting on the bench and his value is at a low.
