    Interesting stuff.

I literally laughed out loud at Artest's comments on Yao's poor play, as also to McGrady's blatant lie about his prediction.

It will be interesting to see how this board reacts to Ron Artest comments.

Lol @ the Tracy thing though.

“[If they get by us,] I think the Lakers will win,” he said.

haha wow T-Mac the politician.. apparently his cell phone dropped the crucial line like the old AT&T commercials.

“We’ve had the most success with Ron when we can put him in an area where he can do a lot of damage,” Shane Battier said. “That’s on the low blocks or mid-post. He’s a monster in there. Where we get in trouble is when our spacing is really poor and we throw the ball to Ron and say, ‘Ron, bail us out.’ That’s when we get the Curly Neal impressions sometimes, dribbling all around.”

LOL! Shane with yet another intangible... :D

    Shane is right there.

Look what T-mac says and does just leave it as it is. His got his story maybe its true maybe its not. Its not important, the playoffs are. But his absense is an important point. The passing is the main problem. I'd like to see analysis from people who had old games to see how T-mac use to free Yao from fronting and why we aren't able to do it now. Maybe there is a strategy there we can use with Artest or Brooks? Or even Lowry? Combined they have a strength of T-macs (speed + power, shooting when hot, driving)

Passing isn't really the problem now. This offense looks Jazz like at times when compared to the passing when Tracy played. Since he's been here, he and Yao were pretty much options 1-5. All 5 guys get involved in the offense now which puts more pressure on the defense and gets other guys more opportunities. That's why we've seen a lot more games with 5 or 6 players in double figures. That wasn't the case in the past.

Tracy didn't really "solve" the fronting issue when he played with Yao, he either drove (rarely) for a chance at a bucket or kicked it out to a 3 point shooter or he would put up a long distance shot (most likely) or pass it to an open man when he was in the act of shooting.

The fronting problem can be solved by the ball swinging back to the weakside with Yao reposting himself on that side also. Artest or Shane should be able to open him up by setting a couple of picks under the basket. If he gets fronted there also, attack the basket from the other side.

I'm not knocking Tracy but I prefer the style of ball being played now to 2 on 5 basketball.

Great stuff in this article. The best line of the article was about Tracy thinking everything is related to him. Hilarious. The "cell phone issues," thing is complete garbage.

Seriously though, I hope the Rockets really have made the adjustments they need to make, and that Artest plays under control tonight.

Ron's best quality is his confidence, it is also his biggest weakness.

Tracy, well, he is actually the opposite, totally insecure.

I'm confident they will make the necessary adjustments.. as poorly as we played in game 2 we still had a chance to pull it out near the end... let's see how these young bucks play away from home in a HOSTILE TC environment!!! It's gonna get ROWDY!!

He's my new Fran Blinebury. I studiously avoid all his articles.

he apparently doesn't know a whole lot about bball. and i try to avoid his bball blogs. this one, though it's called commentary, it's really just a report.

and i found it interesting that adelman was ANGRY of our defense in game 2, even more so than he's upset with the offense.

maybe he's had a strong defensive emphasis after all. i thought he's more about outdoing or getting back at the offensive end.

[rquoter]McGrady is showing up at a time when the Rockets have just been reminded how much they miss him. His absence allowed the Blazers to focus only on Yao and to gamble that Artest, Scola, etc., couldn’t beat them.

McGrady sees the floor too well and would either make plays himself or put someone else in position to make plays.

“They can’t do that stuff with Tracy McGrady on the floor,” Rockets coach Rick Adelman said. “We don’t have anyone capable of doing those things.”

Apparently our own coach is a blind Tracy McGrady nuthugging fanboy. Get that stuff out of here Addlebrain! Keep that crap to t-mac.com!
