Representative Justin Amash of Michigan is leaving Congress after 5 terms. He was a founding member of he Freedom Caucus and a staunch Conservative voice in Congress. As a member of the Judiciary committee he participated in many of the Congressional investigations regarding the current administration. Unlike so many of his colleagues he read the complete Mueller Report and came to the conclusion that what Trump had done was wrong. he broke with his caucus and party to support the impeachment of Trump. As such he left the party first as an independent and then as a member of the Libertarian party. He considered a Presidential run this past year but decided against that or to run for his seat again. This is a big loss of a true Conservative voice in Congress who did put country over party. Hope to see him back in the future. And here is Amash doing what we our elected Representatives should be doing. Engaging with constituents, explaining his views even when they go against what many of them believe. This is leadership rather than the craven exercise we're going to see Jim Jordon, Mo Brooks, Ron Johnson, Ted Cruz and etc.. do this week.
