Rudy T plays ming 7minutes. This is just so frustrating. Ming will never progress in this league with the playing time that he is getting. Rudy will be the demise of Ming. If Golden State would have gotten Ming he would be so much more advanced right now and playing at least 30 minutes a game. Ming is being shortanded right now. If I feel this way I can just imagine how a few million Chinese feell right about now.

I will not complain because Yao Ming at least beat Dunleavy on stats tonight. :D

    Psssst....

I heard that Ming is playing the entire game.....IN PRACTICE !!!!!

He is not ready to play in the NBA yet, he has a ton to learn, and he still needs to get used to the speed of the NBA game.

Best place to learn that? Practice.

Ming will be a major contributor later this year, but it is entirely up to Ming. Rudy will not give him minutes if he does not earn them.

Ming needs to get meaner around the basket, don't worry about fouling out, just play hard all the time.

I don't care how much Ming plays as long as the Rockets win.

Ming will come along, when he is ready.

Did you see what Jay Williams got tonight? He was the number 2 pick and like Yao Ming struglled at first but with enough minutes and experince he will excel.

    Jay Williams 26pts 14rb 13asst.

I was dissappointed that he didn't play more. He did well for the short time he was there. He actually got a few passes, but didn't shoot a couple jumpers that he maybe should have. He also needs to dunk the ball when he can.

I will say that Yao Ming looked like he had some energy tonight and he did not look as lost as other nights. I think Yao Ming is going to be a super star but in the mean time the Rockets need to win games. When he wasn't trying to dunk the ball on Dampier Cato was playing damn good tonight so there was no need to play Yao Ming more.

Ming is not ready, he played 7 minutes but also had 2 fouls. We won the game and Ming got some experince, no complants from me. I like bringing him in slow, plus Ming has be playing non stop few like 2 years now he needs some rest.

This is both a business strategy in the part of marketing and Rudy's conservative approach toward using the new bloods. Les must decide to manage the fans expectation level. Instead giving the fans the chance to criticize Yao, Rudy has Yao prepare more and patiently wait until he is ready to make a contribution. Mercy me, this poor guy needs some rest. But there will be a time Rudy has to use Yao when there is a matchup problem.

One thing about Yao is that he doesn't force anything. He could have shot a couple of jumpers, but it was not his game. On the other hand, he should have shot when he was in the post up, but he passed off to slashers. Take the shots when u can, big guy.

    Forenzi,

I think Rudy is trying to teach Yao not to foul and "earn" his minutes.

If you foul, you sit (two fouls).

    Discipline.

Because most of the time, it's better to let a guy score on you rather
than foul him since being on the court is more important than giving
    up a few layups.

During the time Ming was on the court, Rockets was falling behind. Right now, Ming is useless. He cannot provide a spark either on offense or defence. If not for the No. 1 pick and 4 mil a year, he won't get any playing time.

Realistically we have to wait till next year before Ming can possibly contribute.

It's ridiculous to want him in at the expense of the team..When he EARNS his minutes they will come...have some patience and have some faith in Ming... I don't think him not playing big minutes at the start of his career is going to ruin him

Comparing him to Williams makes no sense...the differences in the two situations are like night and day.

IMHO, I think Yao is still a little tired from all that he has gone through...no rest at all for about 3 years and catching a quick flight to Houston and the NBA.

The reason I say this is that Yao has always been an exceptional free throw shooter and his NBA FT% is very poor so far. The NBA FT line is the same distance as FIBA or the ChBA. It sounds goofy, but I think he isn't getting enough leg in his FT's. And that's a sure sign of him being tired.

One other unrelated comment. IMO, until Yao gets aclimated RT needs to play either Griffin or Hawkins with Yao. I love the passing between Rice and Yao, but Rice and Moochie give up to much D for Yao to make up.

What gibberish. If Ming played for Golden State, he'd be buried on the bench behind Dampier and Foyle. Look how GS is treating Dunleavy. Ming would be playing 3 minutes, not 30.

7 minutes.............u blame Ming for us falling behind? He gave Cato a breather and scored 3 points and a couple rebounds, I wouldn't call it useless. I guess he would have to score 13 points and block 2 shots, and grab 6 rebounds in 7 minutes to be effective.

Again, Yao needs to learn how not to foul, then he'll get minutes.

I would much rather have Rudy be Ming's demise than throw out games. Ming cost us enough embarrasment last year to be able to get him. This year we have to win, period. When he gets it done at practice, Rudy will give him a chance in the game.

Practice shmactrice. He needs NBA minutes. The more he gets, the faster he'll get better. There's only so much you can get out of scrimmaging against Kelvin Cato.
