I've had them for a few years now, and I'm really happy with the speeds. I do daily offsite backing up of my company's major file shares, and generally pull down a full gigs. The speeds have been awesome.
That is until you discover FIOS. My buddy in a sub of Dallas has it and it blows away Comcast in every way possible.
yes, it does. At night. I normally get around 17mbps, at night like around 11 p.m, I get 20mbps+ I think thats when powerboost comes in. Comcast pwns the best DSL package
problem is Verizon FIOS isn't in Houston... so that's not really relevant to most people on this board (and the original poster I assume)
although I just noticed your post saying Comcast is 17mbps... that's not true either, not for the basic $40/month plan it's around 6mpbs (not counting Powerboost)
yeah, see a cox connection and you'll **** your pants. I hate comcast, but it's the only thing out here.
I realize this and want FIOS to finally come to Houston. Until then, Comcast's "Triple Play" is just fine. I used to google FIOS+Houston on a regular basis but finally gave up. It's won't be happening anytime soon so why torture myself.
