you can argue all you want and give any stat that you find, but Chuck Hayes and Luther Head should NEVER see the floor! Some will argue that Hayes plays good defense, but i'm sick of hearing it. All he does is foul and miss open lay-ups. Someone please tell me why he's running the high pick and roll? Luther just cant hang, if he's not hitting 3's he's worthless to this team...if he was 6'5 or 6'6 it would be different, but he's 6'2!

I hope Dorsey gets a chance when he comes back from his injury, and Von Wafer should definitely remain on the roster at the Jan 10th guaranteed contract deadline AND take over Head's minutes.

Agree about Head. Disagree STRONGLY about Hayes. He had a bad game, no doubt, but he absolutely should play. However, he should never shoot the ball unless it's a lay-up and he should think twice about that.

    Partly agree.

Waive Head and resign Mutombo, but I dont think Hayes is a bad guy.

Head and Hayes should NEVER see the floor at the SAME time. \fixed

Dump Head for something, keep Hayes for those pesky athletic post center/pf.

I'll go ahead and say it. Chuck Hayes does play good defense. But this was the type of game that Chuck really struggles in. Hakim Warrick is a very long and athletic power forward, and plays the post facing the basket. Chuck is better suited for guarding more conventional post-up players. Even with Chucks' struggles tonight, Scola and Landry didnt play Warrick any better than Chuck did. So I think its moreso the Grizzlies playing well tonight.

As for the fouls, I really think the refs did a bad job officiating. If you watch this game again, there are several fouls that Chuck should NOT have been called for.

I dont think Ron out this game is a sensible decision, I think grizzlies is much competive than hawks, his ankle injured, but he has played so many games, why this game he out

Hayes was very out of sync today. But rarely will he be pointed at in a loss.

I've come to expect things like this out of Head, which is why the Spurs game never phased me.

Head needs to piss off, Wafer is way better than him but RA will still play Head.

We need to keep Hayes because he is a bargin and can shut down a lot of players, we just need to sign deke to give us a big body and a shot blocking presence and REBOUNDS, Deke's IQ makes his the best rebounder on the team if he is signed right now.

I love it. Chuck has 1 "bad" game out of 20 and he sucks.

I swear the fans get dumber and dumber every year.

Eh... I think I'll side with the HOF calibur coach rather than the random message board fan. No disrespect, but I just think Adelman knows what he's doing seeing as he's been doing this for over 10 years.

Chuck Hayes has been a zero on the offensive end for 3-4 years now yet he still manages to find playing time when we have 2 viable PFs to play over him. There is a reason why this is the case.

Head is a different story... Adelman throws him in for 3 minutes to see if he can catch fire, then takes him out. If Artest was playing you wouldn't even see him.

Chuck Hayes is a decent defender, but how many points does he give up by allowing countless offensive rebounds and missing layups? The guy should not be getting this many minutes. And don't get me started on Head.

Just like Yao, Hayes excels against certain teams. It all depends on the matchups. T-Mac, Artest not playing is what gave him more minutes.

You can't watch this game and then come to the conclusion that Hayes is useless. How about the Portland game where he shut down Aldridge, or when he shut down Dirk? Based on this logic, Yao should not see the floor either.

Haye's is a poor man version of Ben Wallace.

But we didn't have many other choice. We don't have bigs.

Luther's offense dictates his game. He is an one-dimensional player. Still can be adequate if just asked to shoot.

Correction ... Hayes is a poor man's version of an NBA player.

Like Yao, Hayes excels against third graders.... Given the extremely talented and dominating Grizzlies, however, ....

Head and Hayes are 3rd string players. THey should never see the light of day in a playoff game. Ideally we could dump Hayes and add Mutumbo (who is an actual legit backup centre) and dump Head and divvy up his minutes to Von Wafer and Brent Barry.

You know, I used to get really irritated at these types of threads whenever we lost. But now I just sorta sit back and eat my popcorn while the carnage ensues.

Yes. Hayes is the real problem...

Not the fact that our star player played like crap and the other two missed the game entirely...

It's Chuck Hayes we should blame. He's the only one who got burned by Memphis tonight...
