Looked pretty good... unrefined but very very active. Had some boards, a few blocks a few dunks. But he seemed very involved in what was goingon out on the court when he was out there, seemes a bit quicker on defense than I had anticipated as well. I saw Collier play in the Rocky Mountain Revue and he looked sortof lost out there, I guess he was injured though. Also, Milwaukee, while probably marginally a middle of the road sort of team in the NBA as a whole does seem to be more together right now than almost everyone else in the east, which will probably severely devalue the pick the Rocks get from them.

Pryz will become a quality NBA center.
Collier will be a NBA role player.
But I'm not sure what we do in next years draft (we definetely owe a couple of picks next year and most of the picks we are owed have options as to future years). I didn't like the trade because Pryz is a much better player but I need to see how next years draft actually plays out.

It's very early in the season and I still question whether there is (or will be) a major difference between the two. I saw the highlights and 4 of Pryz's 10 points came on dunks from failed Bucks presses. Pryz has got Robinson and Duncan tonight.

If the Rocks pick from the Bucks turns into Ken Johnson (Ohio State) forget about Pryz nd Collier.

I am also a huge fan of Ken Johnson, but I believe all both of our picks (our pick & Milwaukees's assuming they don't make the playoffs) are owed for other trades. I know there is the potential for other gained 1st round picks but their are options on those picks to defer to future years, which would undoubtedly happen unless a team has a very bad draft pick or there is a terrible group coming out in the draft.
I don't expect much help from the draft next year unless we make another move, but I could be wrong.

Prz was 5-5 for 10 points with 6 boards in 19 minutes. Nice work.

Think about this though: a decent center (Cato, Brad Miller, etc.) commands a cool $6 mil per year. The Rockets are already on the hook for that long term with Cato. In 3 years when Prz is a free agent, if the Rockets had kept him, he'd be gone because we could afford $12M+ on the center position. Next year we'll have to sign Taylor and Anderson, or possibly another free agent if Taylor goes.

Prz may be better than Collier, but we've already got Cato's contract and Collier won't come close to what Prz will command. Also, as a #9, Prz's current contract is larger than Collier's #15 contract. Not to mention the draft pick implications.

Ultimately, no one will look at it from the financial side, the trade will ultimately be evaluated as who has the best career. A better indicated should be how the franchises faired after the trade. How many conference finals or NBA finals will the Bucks appear in compared to the Rockets?

Still, it sucks having Najera and Prz have good showings while Collier and Langhi looked like, well, rookies.

The cap considerations shouldnt matter. In 3 years we won't have any cap space. We will have (hopefully) signed Mo Taylor (or another PF) and Shandon to big deals. Cato's not going anywhere. And Francis will be due for a fat pay raise by then. But we could still have kept Pryz because we'd have Bird rights by then. As for next year, I don't think you're talking about millions of dollars difference between the #9 and #15 picks in 2000, plus we'll have to pay the guy we use with Milwaukee's 2001 pick (if we don't give it away).

The deal can, and should, be evaluated strictly on a player-for-player basis. Most people (myself included) think we could've gotten more for our lottery pick than Collier and a late round pick next year. But Rudy's proven us wrong before... maybe he will do so again.
