The Rockets were labeled "beatable" in round 1. We were all watching when the Portland series was tied at 1 game each, and many "fans" jumped ship... Especially as Deke went down in battle. Many said the Rockets chances were "all but done." But we... We were the faithful. If you are still here, you MUST now BELIEVE as you never have before, if not at least since the '96 playoffs. The Rockets were said to have ZERO chance of winning in LA. They proved that wrong in game 1. The Rockets were left for dead after being down 1-2, AND without Yao. They proved again that the Lakers are beatable. The Rockets as they are RIGHT NOW have the goods to beat the "best" team in the Western Conference. After losing 4 to the Lakers during the regular season, the Rockets have stunned them TWICE, one on each court, under intense conditions. Uncle Phil has a poorer record when his teams lose game 1. Houston beat him in game one in THIS series. Kobe is about HIMSELF. Watch for him to cast blame and condescend when the Rockets beat his team in game 6, thus casting doubt on their team's unity. Watch and see if Adelman doesn't tweak some more things and, on top of that, just see if Houston can't shoot a higher percentage when their backs are against the wall. Tonight was in the works long before we watched it. It was the law of averages. It was nearly something predetermined. Look at it this way... at least this time that Houston has lost by 40, we still have a game to avenge it... at home... and a chance to take it to the magical game 7. We must BELIEVE! And if you're a quitter... now is your time to exit. GET RED! SHOCK THE WORLD! BEAT L.A.!!!
Make no doubt about it, everyone on this board still believes (or else they wouldn't be here posting.) But if the Rockets come out with zero confidence for GM 6, and miss all their shots again, there goes the season.
As Kobe said, it doesn't matter how big the outcome. It's just one game. Hope we win Thursday, just to give me one more chance to smile.
Bottom line: Rockets WILL shoot better than 32% on Thursday... and made baskets = getting set on defense = win.
we'll defintely have a chance to win game 6 because i dont see us getting in foul trouble early like we did today. (hopefully).
Honestly..losing by 1 point on a buzzer beater is a lot worse mentally than losing by 40. I think the Rockets will come out and take it to the Lakers in Game 6.
A loss is a loss as Kobe said it. None of us would be as disappointed if we had a Big Baby Davis shot pulled on us. Lets win Game 6 and go from there!
No doubt, I'll cheer the boys on...but no Yao we are better just utterly trash, and no respect, other than that, Go Rockets Beat LA
Another hopeful thought: In game 6, the best Rockets highlights will not include Brent Barry jumping over Leo DiCaprio and Kevin Bacon.
Agreed, there is no way we execute this poorly on both ends of the floor. And I'd say there's no way that L.A. will get anywhere near 20 more FT attempts than us in the next game.
I noticed that one too... And I doubt Houston goes 17% from the arch either. Tonight made the relative closeness of our other 2 losses very apparent... and more painful. The Rockets will come out on a high... And they will have the home crowd to boost them. Rockets, you CAN do this!
Win or Lose ... words can't describe how proud I am of this team. I will cheer and have faith that we will pull out one more at home. However, in the slimmest chance we do lose I hope the crowd DOES NOT LEAVE early and gives our players a standing ovation as they very much deserve it.
