I was picking up food at Tien Ren (formerly Wonderful Vegetarian Restaurant) and he was eating there. I thanked him for the effort this last season and asked him if Rudy would be back. He said he definitely would. Said he'd just talked to him a few minutes earlier and he was doing great -- that the doctors had recently told him there's a 90% chance that after the treatments he'll never have a problem with this again. I told him I was glad and that he needed to hurry back and that we need him. He heartily agreed. I thanked him again for the effort and left. Super nice guy.

Sorry, DD. I was disappointed this year too, but I know they tried hard and this was neither the time nor the place for bashing. I meant everything I said. Just one more thing we disagree about. CBFC: Yeah, no pics. But don't you think if I was gonna make up a story I'd come up with a sexier one than bumping into Jim Boylen? Uh, LOL, as the kids say.
I am very dissapointed. You faded under pressure. Hey it is just the video guy - ask him tough questions like what is the meaning of "Be part of Something Big" or "on the scale of 1-10, how would you rate Larry Smith".
I would have asked him about hearing him yell "pick for the picker" on the bench, and whether the coaches are trying to dumb it down for Francis/Griffin/Mobley/Posey.
If you've been reading my occasional posts in GARM you'd know I wouldn't have asked those questions, pressure or not. I'm just not as mad about this year as some of you. Plus, he was such a nice guy I felt like I could ask him anything. Just didn't have anything else to ask. I thought Smith was pretty terrible too, by the way, but I don't fault him that. He was filling in for a sick friend and I'm sure he did his best. Not really his fault his best wasn't good enough.

Batman You are a good man - I was only pulling your legs (with a twist). You handled yourself well under such immense pressure. JimmyB is no doubt a nice guy. I hear Mr. Mean is even a nicer guy. Oh well, I wish them well in whatever endeavor they choose to pitch their tent after this season.
