For all of you coming down on Tracy for being a girly-man or unprofessional, get over it.

    1) He played hurt through 2 seasons bringing him hobbling into this year. If he doesn't get the surgery done now(which should've been when Yao left last season), then he can return and try to continue his career here or elsewhere depending on how he performs.

    2) He keeps hearing "play through it, play through it". At some point, you have to look out for number 1... yourself. With all the hate here, would you put yourself in the position of sitting out an entire contract year for fans that curse you when the team loses and just say "ok" when you drop big numbers? I doubt the playoff atmosphere in the Toyota Center could even give ANYONE enough adrenaline to play through injuries, much less the regular season atmosphere.

    3) All the talk about "he did this so he wouldn't get traded". Bull****. Have you seen him play lately? Who in their right mind would run that guy back out there EVEN IF HE WANTED TO PLAY? He's obviously not doing to well physically. Other teams can watch tapes of him playing... it's not some big secret that he was hurting. And calling him sneaky and shady for telling the truth when if you are in fact correct, the Rockets were seeking to dump an injured beyond repair player onto another team.

Seriously Houston, I listen to you call into the radio shows and you have completely unrealistic expectations for someone who's obviously hurt. You want him to play through it, but b**** about his lagging numbers. If I were T-Mac, I'd hope I'd get waived and go join a team that doesn't run its talent into the ground.

No people are just that dumb.

Hey OP, what makes you think he'll even decide to rehab his knee properly this time when he couldn't even rehab it after minor surgery like what he had this offseason? Microfracture rehab is much more severe, but I'm already it assuming it is going to be the Rockets' fault once again that he doesn't make it back from that injury too. Am I right?

There's nothing Tracy could do that would put him at fault in the eyes of some.

Always being hurt is a problem bottom line.

No excuses... I mean how many years has it been?

Insanity... same thing over and over again and expecting a different result?

Hasn't got out the 1st round yet and hasn't been healthy since 2005 that is the only thing that is consistent with Tracy McGrady.
