Apparently Tim Duncan and David Robinson were both at WestSide today (though I think this was mentioned in the Chan 13 report?)... Duncan supposedly looked awesome. A guy who also looked good was Damon Jones -- I believe ESPN Insider had reported that he could become a possibility for the Rockets if Moochie doesn't come back. Also, Sam Mack shot lights out from 3-point range.

Sad when this is news huh? Damn this is one serious ass dry spell. A year ago we added Mo at this time and two years ago Francis. We've been spoiled by exciting late Augusts....

So screw it -- I say we amuse ourselves by making stuff up -- in this thread only. Post as much BS, confirmed by as many sources as you want. You were mall-walking, minding your own business in the grocery store, live above Cuttino's apartment and heard him talking through the pipes... it doesn't matter.

I give bonus points for believability and creativity....

Duncan and Robinson were at the Astros-Reds game on Tuesday. I saw them on Sportscenter. I guess since there are no baseball teams in San Antonio, they decided to come to a city with a baseball team(a damn good one too) to workout.

BTW, that wasn't a makeup scoop or anything. True stuff.

Well, that's the BBS for you.

Clutch authorizes an "anything goes" thread, and someone still finds a way to take it off topic.

Why the hell are the Rox signing Manute out of retirement...............I thought I'd never say this but Cato is better than they are giving him credit for.

At least his(Bol) 3 pt range will bring Shaq away from the hoop.

..............oh **** I forgot they changed the rules...........

I understand there are serious talks about acquiring Shaq's claw toe for the 5. Evidently, they botched the surgery and decided to put in something bionic (like he needs it--must be some kind of competition thing with Kobe). The Lakers have offered the toe to the Rockets for cash considerations and future picks.

CD and RT like the idea because it's talent level is greater than Cato's.

I wish it weren't true, but I saw someone in a fly shop in Idaho that told me that Fegan is trying to get Moochie in Miami via Miami's trade exception.

Actually, it's not true or is it (spookey piano banging in the background).

I heard on a site that the Rockets are 48 hours away from a trade that would look like this:

Rockets trade:
Walt Williams to Washington
Kelvin Cato to Chicago

Washington trades:
Jahidi White to Houston

Chicago trades:
Eddie Curry to Houston
Brad Miller to Houston
Ron Artest to Cleveland

Denver trades:
Raef LaFrenz to Houston

According to the article: “This makes sense for all teams. Houston is in need of whatever their fans are in the mood for, and the other teams are looking to get younger and cut salary in fear of the tax.”

Pops / Doc / Cltuch: any confirmation?

Here some news
**********************NEWS************************

My dad lives in a luxury apt. complex called "San Montego"(location is on eldridge between memorial and westheimer) . From what i have seen in the past two years I think that the Rockets ship all there rookies to live out there. Not only have i seen Rockets players, I have seen a sheet of paper that says Antonio Mcdyess and Nick Vanaxel have apts. there......... too bad Antonio's contract came up at the worst possible time for a signing with the Rockets (http://www.clutchcity.net/news.cfm?NewsID=580) .......

I was walking around the Seattle Center today, and boom, there was the GM of the Sonics. Apparently, the Sonics are working on a deal that would send Vin Baker and Rashard Lewis to Houston for Maurice Taylor and Cuttino Mobley, plus a future second rounder. It looks like this deal is done, and is simply waiting for league approval.

New lineups:

Francis-Moochie
Williams
Rice-Lewis-Griffin-Morris-Langhi
Baker-Thomas
Cato-Collier

I've seen Hakeem's draft day medical records. My pulse raced when they were revealed to me because what I saw you would not believe. It was discovered on draft day that his heart palpitations were caused by the fact that he was born with two hearts. But that didn't scare the Rockets away on draft night. The first heart was pretty much normal. The second was the heart of a champion.

In a move that shocked the world, Les Alexander sells the Rockets to the Pepsi Cola company, and the team changes uniforms to bright green and yellow, ala Moutain Dew. The team is then instructed to no longer shoot the ball, and to only throw down dunks and toss alley oops. Upon slamming the the ball down, each player will be payed to chug a Mountain Dew and scream "Do the Dew!" Pepsi Company President, and new head coach of the Rockets announced, "Defense will now be optional, on the condition that the player is not committing a crime while the opposing team is running its offense."

In an unrelated news tidbit, some random strip club owner announced that Charles Barkley was coming out of retirement to play for Houston.

Just as we feared, Rice is going to miss the opener. Word from the docs is lash marks and "plantar's nuts."

************* HAKEEM"S BACK ********************

It has been reported that hakeem has been traded back to the rockets for francis, mobley, maurice taylor, glen rice, griffin, walt, and morris. The rockets get hakeem ( CD and RT do it again, what a steal!!!!!!!)

The whole city of houston is celebrating with joy.

Hakeem had said a few months ago, " I want the team to be together." As it turns out, the rockets will make his wish come true.

So, the rockets have brought in ralph sampson, mitchell wiggins, rodney mcray.

New Lineup:

PG: Moochie
Sg: mitchell wiggins
Sf: rodney mcray
pf: ralph sampson
c: hakeem olajuwon

Bench (do we really need one with that lineup) : langhi, collier, cato (as much as teams wanted cato, the rockets made it clear that he was too valuable to be traded).

WoW!!!!! Can you say 3-peat!!!!!!!!!!!!!
