The tragic grenade explosions this evening resulting in the wounding of fourteen soldiers, four seriously just got me to thinking....

Going into this war we knew of all of the risks, potential devastation and the carnage that would likely take place as soon as it started. One would likely feel there should be multiple American casualties even in the opening days of war.

Now here we sit; engaged in 3 days of war, dangerous operations, enemy battle, risky missions which the USA executes an aggressive military plan containing an amount of artillery well beyond that which had ever been seen... All of that has resulted in a number of casualties.

...And it takes just one or two jackass anti-war protestors to come along and causes just as many casualties as the first 72 hours of the war.

I guess turning your back on The Flag during The National Anthem was not that bad after all.

    Way to go!

Well, I really hate anti-war protestors right now, and I admit it's somewhat personal. Tomorrow I was set to run in the DC Marathon, which is something I've been training for the past six months, often in freezing cold whether. Wednesday night they cancelled the whole damn thing due to safety concerns. This is largely due to the fact that a large number of police will be needed to "oversee" the protests, rather than assisting in overseeing the marathon. Needless to say, I'm pissed.

Also, you have to wonder how much these anti-war protests are costing cities as far as police oversight and cleanup. I bet if someone took the time to do the calculations it would be surprisingly high.

I'm guessing you have a problem with the anti-war protesters, and I don't blame you with all the crap that SOME of them have been doing, but jumping to conclusions like that, especially after this very terrible act, without any facts or any indication that could lead to your conclusion, is asinine.

The most anybody has said is that the motive was resentment. If this guy was anti-war, why would he even be in the military in the first place?

What I strongly despise about these anti-war protesters is that some of them don't behave or obey very well. Some of them are vandals.

Protesting peacefully is one thing, but the ones who cause trouble are dispicable. These ignorant people only weaken the United States' objective of preventing terrorism in our own backyard because the authorities have to put their efforts into these knuckleheads.

These kinds of protesters should be put in jail for months IMO.

It seems to me that the anti-war protesters are causing more commotion than the people that support it. I wasnt for the war myself but since it has begun, I feel that we should support our President and soldiers and hope that they can get the job done and return home safely.

Yes, and these "patriots" draw away municipal police from their jobs at an astounding rate, just when they are most needed. If you want to commit a crime, do it now. If you want to blow up a building, do it now. No one's watching, because they're too busy trying to wrestle down the stoned assholes downtown screaming "Not in my name!"...

US military people that kill their own are traitors, not anti-war protesters.

I also don't think it's very genuine to talk about the costs of legally protected peace protests affecting the fight against terrorism when we're spending upwards of $100 billion fighting a war.

After I saw the pictures of the criminals who were beating people up in San Francisco I actually missed the peaceful marches. For the most part I believe the movement has been peaceful and respective of the community. Of course you are going to have those a-holes who are going to embarrass both sides. As long as they continue to be respectful of the community I would take them anyday over those who neglect their freedom of demonstration and expression.

I saw the video of of those guys fighting. I wanted to say I was embarrassed by them, but screw them, those guys are criminals. They don't represent anybody but people like themselves.

Yeah, I felt the same way about those who spay painted the home of the French residents in Houston. No one wins when people resort to this type of behavior.

Tell me about it. Those idiots who spray painted crap at Patton's museum are another example.

Don't get me started on freedom fries.

    Well, maybe $.32 a dozen? I once found a good deal at Kroger, $.22 a dozen for Grade A anti-war protests. ;)

Just found an article on it. I'd hand over the US soldier to the Republican Guard and tell them to do whatever they want with him.
