they filled there need with a awesome center in Mason Walters with a solid QB to replace Mccoy after this year. Give that young secondary another year to grow, hopefully the new RB Chris Whaley will be somewhat decent, and we should have a very exciting year.

also we play TT at home this year, ready to give some ass kicking

OU is returning like 9 players on their defense.. and bradford and their running backs and TE. but they are losing their WR's, but i think they have good athletes to fill that void.

we're only losing quan and dockery i think on our offense. we should be very sick this year on offense. i love the receivers on our team, and they're only gonna be better. colt should put up monster numbers again this year. losing quan will hurt but i think we've got playermakers to fit right in. i'm excited to see dan buckner hit the field.

our defense should be okay. the line can be a weakness, but we've got guys like acho and eddie jones ready to go. we'll miss rak for sure... our secondary hopefully gets better with experience and curtis brown live up to his potential.

it'll be another good competitive game against OU, but i think this year if we get by OU, we'll make it to the national championship game. last year was supposed to be our 'rebuilding' year, but everyone excelled. they now believe and are playing with a chip on their shoulder that OU lost the championship game texas was supposed to play in.

i'm predicting an undefeated season going into the national championship game, and regardless of who we play, i'll give us a good chance at the title!

with gilbert waiting in the wings the year after, the future looks bright :)

Doesn't OU also have to replace most of their O-line?

yeah i think almost all of it. i remember hearing on the radio now that they thought one of the reasons bradford should have went to the nfl was because the whole o-line would be new and that he would be running for his life the entire season.

This is definitely one of Mack's best classes. A very balanced class including a stud QB, OL, and DE.

Did it last year, why not this coming year? And for those who asked, yes, OU lost 4 starters on the OL, as well as two starting receivers, I believe.

I was listening to Sean and John and they were talking about this story from an Alabama paper that went back and looked at the rankings given to the top players college players from this past season. A lot of the best guys were not ranked that high, so don't start making room in the UT trophy cabinet just yet.

That's exactly what happened with Colt McCoy in his sophomore year and you saw the regression it made in his play with the overhauling of the OL. So hopefully Bradford does the same. :D

People should be excited because UT is returning the vast majority of a BCS Bowl winning team, led by QB coming off the most accurate season in college football history.

Anyone who is counting on much of this class to be major contributors this year is kidding themselves. We may see Alex Okafor as a situational pass rusher, Mason Walters because he's supposed to be a beast, and Chris Whaley as part of the rushing crew, but that might be it.

College football players generally take time to develop. Other than Gideon, how many true freshmen contributed last year? Aaron Williams and Dan Buckner played here and there. That's about it.

UT-Austin's season will basically come down to the OU game.

They'll have to run the table due to the weak schedule

Holy s***! You said something rational about UT. Who hacked your account?

In all likeliness, they'll be ranked somewhere between #1 and #3 (probably #3 behind Fla. and OU) to start the season. The schedule is a bit weak this year, so you are correct. They're going to have to run the table. Other than OU, they will be the favorite in every game. Tech will be down. Kansas will be down. Missouri will be down. OkSt will be overrated. Truthfully, I'd be a little concerned with playing @ Baylor. If they get any talent around their qb, they could be scary. Other than that, 12-0 very well could happen. If Florida slips early, the UT OU game should be #1 vs #2.

Couldn't agree more, assuming it's not one of those crazy seasons where everyone loses, kinda like the season where LSU won it all with 2 losses.

You may have forgotten a :p, or a ;), and maybe a :D because there is no one that knows anything about college football that would take your post seriously.

Louisiana Tech? Maybe if Bradshaw comes back via a time machine.

Oh wait, Georgia Tech? It'll be interesting to see if they can build on that great year with some actual recruits that fit the system, although I wonder if LSU exposed them in the bowl game.

Virginia Tech? Good point. They really came on last year once they decided to NOT redshirt Tyrod Taylor. But still- only VT or GT can survive the ACC, right?

I'm running out of Tech's to take seriously....which one were you referring to?
