IMO, the best place to vacation...Its not for rest and relaxation, but for pure fun and a place to over load of your senses...Lots of hot chicks, etc...Here's what we did: 1) Stayed at NY, NY - damn pool was only open from 9 - 4 p.m. . Road the roller coaster which was a great way to start the night and get the adrenaline pumping... 2) Went to see "O" at the Bellagio - it was ok, but see below for story... 3) Rented a car and went to the Hoover Dam - Very Cool... 4) Ate at some italian rest. we saw on the travel channel...Something "hole in the wall" - was ok, but the price of dinner included all you can drink house win, so it was pretty sweet... 5) Took the boat ride at the venetian shops - very romantic... 6) Gambled and won on craps, but lost on black jack and roulette...also went to ESPNZone - freakin' awesome... 7) Spent 24/7 with this girl I'm dating and didn't get tired of her the whole trip... Here's the story...After "O" at the bellagio, we wanted to gamble and it was around midnight...We found a table that wasn't too crowded and was a $10 minimum...As we get there this guy gives up his turn and so its my turn...After a couple of rolls, I crap out...Then its my girls turn, who I just taught to play the day before...Before she rolls, this older guy comes up and all the dealers knows him and he gets this huge stack of $500 chips...OMG!!! Anyway, she starts rolling and was hot...She was hitting all her points, 6&8, etc...She rolled like what seemed forever...Well, ever once in a while, this guy would throw $100 chips her way, which i thought for sure, indecent proposal and we're doing a threesome...but no, he was just happy to be winning and was very cool... Long story short, she rolled for about 20 minutes and won him $20,000...We both won, but not as much as him...Hell he tipped her and the dealers and was happy to win...In other words,I love Vegas...
Damn...I really can't wait to hit up my first post 21 Vegas trip at the end of June. Reading posts like this makes the anticipation even greater for me. Seems like all of the really rich guys love to play craps, might have to learn the basics of the game and play a little bit over the Summer. I don't really like games that have little to no skill involved, but craps seems like one of the games that can be REALLY fun--esp if there is a hot roller at the table! I am staying at NYNY for 4 nights on a trip with my best friend from HS--we have been planning this since our senior year of HS.
Glad you had a great time, man. I cannot wait for my next trip, which may be soon if I get this new job as anticipated!
Vegas was hella-fun when I went. I played craps and blackjack exclusively. I really enjoyed craps, it's more of a party game, but did better money-wise at blackjack.
Nothin' like a virgin at the Craps table. And can you have any more fun in Vegas with your pants on than at a hot Craps table?
I LOVE VEGAS. Here is my little review I wrote a while back. I’ve been to Vegas several times. I go one or two times a year. I feel like I could write a book on it. This year Im going in April, hopefully around Final Four time. If I were you I would Stay at Bellagio. It’s the nicest hotel on the middle of the strip, so it’s not too far from anything. Sure the rooms are pricey, but it’s a nice stay. If your looking for something a little less pricier try Ceasars, Aladin, or Paris. Search the hotels web sites for internet promotions. I got to stay at Bellagio once for a good deal because of these. The Venetian is the nicest Hotel in Vegas right now, until the Wynn opens in late April, but it’s at the very end of the Strip. Bellagio also has The Best Buffet. If I were you I would hit up their Sunday Champagne Brunch. Hands down the best in town. The Rio also has a very good buffet, for a little less money. If your into Sushi, the best spot by far is Hamada of Japan at the Polo Towers. They have like five different locations in Vegas, but stick to that one as it’s better priced and a little less crowded. You will also get better service and a better menu. A couple of other notable restaraunts are; Wolfgang Pucks Grill and Emrils Fish House, both at MGM. A surprise winner for steaks is Steakhouse Les Artiste at Paris. The Peppermill down near the Sahara is great for late late night snacks. They have a lounge with a fire pit which has a nice vibe and could be a place to meet drunk women trying to sober up. The only problem is you can only have appetizers in the lounge as far as food, but they are plenty. The best clubs are Rain and Ghost Bar at the Palms. ICE is off the strip, but should be a good spot now , since there is a reality television show about it. Another good place to check out women is the Hard Rock Café Pool. You will need to get a “Players Card” so you can show it to the pool guard when he ask you for I.D. The pool is supposed to be for guest only. So tell him you left your key in your room with your sleeping hung over wife (or some other bs), and you just want to play pool side blackjack. The view will be worth the trouble. For shows I recommend ”O” at the Bellagio. Ive also seen Blue Man Group, Zumanity, Mystere, but I recommend “O”. It’s mind blowing. Im probably going to take in Penn and Teller at the Rio, and Ka at the MGM when I go in April. It’s also a good idea to search and see what performers will be in town for your visit. Last time I caught David Copperfield at the MGM and he was amazing. The MGM usually has good performances. If you gamble, please learn to do so before going out there. I recommend reading a book on Black Jack to learn the “Basic Strategy”. If the book doesnt contain “Basic Strategy” put it down. This will give you the best odds in Vegas. It was a formula proven by computers to beat the dealer! Practice “Basic Strategy” on a PC game if possible. You can find Black Jack online at gamehouse.com for free. Stay away from the fancy large strip hotels when gambling, and stick to the older ones; Excalibur, San Remo, Imperial Palace, Sahara, and the Down Town Casinos. These older casinos have to increase the odds in your favor a little bit in order to stay in competition with the newer ones. The fancier ones usually have higher table limits, and the odds are not so good. STAY AWAY FROM TABLES WITH SHUFFLING MACHINES. They kill your odds if you are examining if a high or low card could come out, because they are shuffling constantly! If you win a pretty big sum of money, don’t put it back on the table. From my experience, doubling what you sit down with is a pretty good win. Get up and enjoy your winnings. The biggest mistake people make is they ride the streak until they lose it all back. Make tiny budgets of what your willing to win or lose at each table. Win you hit that limit get up from that table. The best thing about Vegas is if your not winning, you can always go look for the hot table elsewhere.
This reminds me I need to book a summer trip out there. The Hard Rock pool is indeed a destination of choice.
I'm a Rio Suites guy. Some people don't like it because it's not on the strip. That doesn't bother me because the rooms are huge and nice, although not really "suites". Although, I did stay at a sweet ass suite at the Aladdin for my honeymoon.
I just got back from vegas last night as well. I stayed at The Bellagio and had a great time. The hotel is fantastic but expensive. I would also recommend staying there.
I just got back from Vegas on Saturday. Hotel: Stayed at the Imperial Palace. This place is old, it's dated, it's ugly, and it's hot as hell in the casino... But boy is it cheap! The elevators are slow and small, and it was always a chore to go up to the room. However, we were paying 79 bucks per night for a room, so we put up with it. Like the Bellagio, the IP is centrally located. It is very close to Paris, the Venetian, Caesar's, and Bellagio. Another great thing is that it has its own monorail station, so you can ride the train over to MGM (which is much much nicer than i remembered). The casino has a very electric atmosphere, with friendly dealers who are (poorly) dressed as assorted music stars. Poker information: If you are new to poker and want to play in some cheap tournaments, then I recommend Aladdin. It has a nice, large poker room, with friendly dealers who are tolerant of newbies. The Imperial Palace had some fun little tournaments as well, with good dealers and bad competition. The Luxor had the cheapest tournament, a $25 buyin, but the format was way too fast and the dealers were flat-out mean. They were just jaded jerks who obviously didnt like dealing these tiny tournaments for a living. Food: The Aladdin has an awesome seafood buffet called Todai. I think we have one here in Houston, but I had never been. This place had really good seafood and i recommend it. The Aladdin's Spice Market Buffet was also incredible. It was the best buffet i have ever been to, though I have not tried Bellagio. Adult Entertainment: Went to Cheetah's. It was a slow night, and I was not too impressed by this place. The drinks were outrageously expensive, so I just had one. A stripper who was obviously way more messed up than me tried to hustle me out of a couple-hundred bucks. I eventually paid her an extra 20 just to go away and find another victim. She gave an incredible lapdance, so it was worth the price. It was a positive experience overall. Shows: We Will Rock You, at Paris. This is a stage production featuring the songs of Queen. We got stuck with an understudy playing the major role. The songs were good, the story and acting were terrible, almost painful. Buy the cheapest tickets possible if you want to see this. There is no point in being close because it is all about the music. Recommend it for queen fans. Blue Man Group. I really enjoyed this one. They are very funny guys who can put on a good show. Yes, it is gimmicky, but it is also very original. Ka. Wow. This show just about blew my mind. It is the first Cirque that I have seen that actually has a story, and I liked that. They really do some incredible things in this show, but it has a slightly different feel from their other productions. I very highly recommend this show. The auditorium and atmosphere were great. Overall it was a great trip. If you want to gamble more or see more shows, then I recommend staying in the cheaper hotel. A room is a room, afterall, and you can always walk next door to someplace that has better restaurants. Location is the key. Also try the MIB slot machines. Those things are so addictive and fun to play. Just put in a 20 and play 20 lines at a time. Trust me on this one.
Man sure a lot of people that just came back from vegas... well I guess I have to say that I too just recently came back.. stayed at the rio pretty much the whole time... won 500 bucks on pai gaw so all in all it was a pretty damn good trip... and I have to agree the belagio has an awesome buffet.... i also like the seafood buffet at the rio...
am i the only person that went to vegas and didn't gamble but a quarter in a slot machine? i mentioned before, but we went over superbowl w/e for my twin's bachelorette party and had a great time!! lotsa drinking, eating, walking around, etc. we had 6 girls in a bellagio suite and it was sooooo nice. i would highly recommend that place! pools and hot tub opened 24/7. everyone had a bed and there were plenty of mirrors and counter for all of us to get ready at the same time. very nice.

During the week in the summer you can usually stay at the Paris, Alladin, MGM Grand, Treasure Island, NYNY, ect. for around 70-90 a night.
My buddy and I got 2 round trip tickets and 4 nights at NYNY at the end of June (hottest time of the year in Vegas...) for $650 combined. Pretty good, I think...But the weather is gonna be scorching.
It's nothing compared to Houston. Once when I went it was like 120 or something like that, and it was pleasantly warm to me. It will help you appreciate the power of humidity.
I think next time I go, I will be staying at the Bellagio or Mandalay Bay...The Bellagio was nice, but I hear its expensive...Forgot to mention I fell asleep at "O"...It was ok, but for being the first show I've been to, I was expecting more...
