It's awesome. It's a visual masterpiece. Sin City made a big statement on what you could do with digital filmmaking and 300 is the first real entry into a new style of film.
    Fantastic.

BUT 300 Spartans and 0 plotlines. Pretty pointless in between the epic battles.

I'm not easily impressed by visual b.s, if a movie ain't got a story line it ain't worth my time. Is it anything like Gladiator?

It's not really like gladiator. Equally gory but more stylized and not so plot driven.

Yea I would recommend it. 300 is just not something that you have seen before. The way the colors blend between the special effects and wardrobe is seamless. It’s not awakard star wars style where you can easily separate what’s real and what’s not. It’s really stunning.

The battle scenes are very original. Unlike a lot of other films, you can really make out who is fighting who and have a really good idea of what is going on. It's not just a series of cuts of people in combat.

Their fighting style changes as the circumstances change and the strategies are usually quite clever.

    Check it out

    Visually stunning. Check
    Big battle scenes. Check
    Gore. Check
    Lack of plot. Check

Just about my favorite combo for a movie.

I'm ok with visual eye candy with little plot (e.g. Blade) as long as the movie doesn't get too full of itself and start spewing weird philosophy stuff that doesn't make a lick of sense (Matrix 2 & 3).

I'm looking forward to it. A distinct, new visual style and atmosphere unseen before is interesting enough to make me want to see it. Plus it's based on Frank Miller's work and tons of action, we've got a winner. I can't wait.

But in the meantime I'll be checking out Reno 911 this weekend. Dangle roaming South Beach is equally interesting.

The only reason I want to see this movie is from seeing all the trailer parodies on YTMND.

    This movie looks fantastic.

I love Frank Miller's style as I was a huge Dark Knight Returns, Batman:Year One and Sin City fan. I thought Sin Sity was the most original movie to come out in a long time.

This movie is going to rock!

If I were given a choice, I'd pick the IMAX showing instead of the regular movie theater. The trailer alone rocks my surround sound at home... and that's an HD trailer...
You guys want to take this to the "online dating" thread...?

"you know how I know you're gay?" ;)
