If they cant get much, just give him away. I think he's a loser in the sense that he just seems to bring losing along with himself like marbury does teams. Fab 5 check denver check washington check dallas check orlando check hou check The Fab 5 lost on a humbug, not his fault, no, but he was there. You cant deny it. Denver and Dallas eventually both ended up better teams after his departure The Wizards sucked, but he stole 100 million dollars from them and was virtually untradeable until MJ came along. ORL made the playoffs 3 straight years until Juwan came and all of a sudden boom. 19 straight. Here we have HOU, probably would've passed round one but Juwan goes down. No he wasnt the #1 cause but depth especially your starting 4 means alot. This past season, shall I even bother? Of course you guys can rip this post to shreds and call it stupid and find other reasons to justify the losing, but there is one thing that connects them all and its Juwan. For the sake of the team just get rid of him, take peanuts for him, but get him out. Yes it is a last resort, and I know some of you will defend him (right DA?) but the team will be better off in the future with him gone.
Blah blah blah blah. Another dumb thread whining about JH. Man O man this is stale bread. Thanks for suggesting this for the !!th time. It really stimulates the intellect and adds to the discussion.
Valid Points. I won't rip most of the post to shreds except one thing. We would be paying his contract without him on the team. Battier is undersized to play the 4 full time. Hayes is not a starter. Novak needs toughness and strength. I wished we could pry Wilcox or an upcoming pf that doesn't overvalue himself, but we didn't. Next year will be a better class, and we might be able to find a good vlaue for the midlevel. The draft should be more improved with the young players. We may need to cut him next year, but I think we need him this year no matter how sad that sounds.
I think we should give away TMac since he seems to bring first round playoff exits to his team. Yao Ming, too, has never gotten out of the first round. I mean, running an NBA front office is all about managing curses. We need to get guys who have won rings on this team, like Robert Horry, Jason Williams, Antoine Walker, Sean Marks, and Mengke Bateer. Those winners will bring winning with them. Brilliant
I know Juwan isn't the best basketball player ever - but if we had the chance to get rid of someone - it would be Flying Ryan Bowen. Even though I do admit that I'll miss watching Flying Ryan do amazing dunks. He and Stromile Swift are exactly the same. Beside that Ryan has heart and Stro has talent.... if only we can combined these two...
Bowen makes what, a million. He could really be cut, or just put on the end of the bench. We have a starting PF who loves to hang out on the perimeter when he should be under the basket helping Yao grab boards. His salary isnt his fault, but they should really look into getting rid of Juwan. It is a necessary change, and we probably could've had a PF by now had our general manager not traded, ah nevermind. Lets just go for Wright and find a way to dump the curse

Let me get this straight: You're claiming JHo's absence lost that series for us -- yet you want to give him away for nothing in return. He's good enough that his being available for every game in that series would have been the difference for us, but he sucks so much that we should kick him to the curb.
I'm sorry but as sad as this is Iwould still rather have JHo than Swift. Maybe not his contract but he definitely tries harder in his decling years than Stro has in his prime. And if I may add I believe he got further than Rudy Gay in college as well as Stro, and it's yet to be determined whether or not their team will fair any better in the future than JHo's did in the past. If you want you can play for free and see what we post about you.
1. This curse thing is tired and idiotic. Juwan didn't cause Webber to call a stupid timeout. Dallas only got 3 games better then 8 games worse in the 2 years after they traded Juwan. Denver got better only because they were in salary slashing mode before and then drafted Melo and began to spend money on the likes of Camby. 2. The reason why you want to get rid of Juwan is because of his contract and his lack of fit, skillwise, with Yao, not some sort of idiotic curse theory. 3. Given his contract and give the NBA rules, you can't just give away Juwan Howard. In fact, if a team has enough cap space to take Howard's contract without givin anything back, they will expect serious compensation for doing do. The real question, as far as "giveaway" is concerns, is whether the team should pay the neccesary price to get rid of the salary. The likely lowest price for getting rid of Juwan would be Luther Head+2007's 1st round pick. Not one or the other, but BOTH. Is that something the Rockets should do?
The Rockets took him for less than that. Im sure they can find a way. When I said give him away I didnt mean it literally and its funny that some people took it literal.I meant even if it isnt what you would consider equal value, do it. Portland wanted to give the Rockets Darius Miles, and they should've pulled on it. The #8 didnt matter because they gave that away anyhow. I know the reasons why those teams improved but one criteria was getting rid of Juwan Howard. No I didn't suggest he was the sole reason the Rockets lost in the playoffs, but I said he went down right before the time. Juwan's contract and yes his age and skill or lack thereof is the reason. I simply said he needs to go. You wont get many opportunities to get him out of here, but when the chance is presented take it, ie Darius Miles.
