Just curious, who the hell is the starting small forward if Posey leaves?

You cant be serious Les and Jeff Van Gundy if you think Rice and Boki will get us into the playoffs when last year even good ol' Posey wasnt good enough.

the bad revelations that have happened in the last two days to completely suck:

1.no Brand,no more hope for a s&t for Brand

2.no Cuttino leaving for pu$$yland

3.Boki stinking it up in summer leagues

4.some crazy a$$ rumor that Cato will be starting at pf

5.some crazy a$$ rumor that Griffin will start at sf(wait !!!,I think I just answered my topic question on who JVG wants to play sf,damn)

So,do you guys think honestly JVg is making a good choice of Griffin at sf since it looks like Les wont pony up the $$$ for Posey.

edit: just saw the Jim Jackson damn thread,I had no clue the Jackson thread was talking about Posey leaving.

1. You are really jumping the gun. Why are you assuming that Les isn't going to give Posey his money?? We tendered an offer and will let other team's establish the going rate.

2. Who said Griffin will play the SF position???

3. I believe that CD said the luxury tax would not be an issue if we found a player worth going over the limit for. Who was/is available, that we could realistically sign that fits this criteria??

4. Your comment about Demarr Johnson is tacky.

Dude! Don't be so impatient! We got the whole summer to go over the luxury tax and sign someone. I think we'll resign Posey, but if we don't, the playing time would be a good experience for Nachbar. If he were to play a lot and still suck, then declare him a bust.

3.brand,and atleast Posey sheesh

4.so he didnt have a broken neck last year to nearly end his career?

I would bet $100 to the tip jar that Kick Azz is full of it and so is the person that said Griffin will be moved to the 3.

We didnt have the money to sign Brand. THat is a moot point.

Yes, Johnson did have a broken neck. Calling someone by the name is tacky IMO.

didn't want to start a new thread, but is losing Posey a bad thing?
maybe not, if we can pull off a sign and trade...

I'm no trade guru so I am not sure if this will work out money wise, but if it is inevitable that we will lose Posey why not package some of these guys
~James Posey
~Moochie Norris
~Kelvin Cato or MoT - would like to send MoT, but i think Chi would prefer a Center, a center that the Rockets may really need...
~Glen Rice's contract
~Nachbar
~Griffin <- would like to keep him if possible
and try to get some of these guys,

~Jamal Crawford -> could he fill the back up pg role we wanted? can he do it better than moochie?
~Eddie Curry or Tyson Chandler -> i'd prefer Curry
~Donyell Marshall- 9 rebs a game is attractive
~Eddie Robinson
~Marcus Pizer
I don't think it is at all necessary to include Mobely in a trade like this, but Griffin I'm not so sure about... I'd like to hang on to EG, but if a trade that may better the team comes along then so be it...

For some one who understands salary caps and luxury taxes better, tell me what scenarios are possible here..

This isn't a trade, just players I think both teams would consider in a trade...

nolan,

It is not inevitable that we will lose Posey. As a matter of fact it is very unlikely that we will lose him unless you are convinced that CD will not match the 3 mil offer from the Bulls. Remember that while Posey's contract counts against the cap we can still excede the cap to resign him with out touching the mid level exception money. I beleive that it is highly unlikely that Posey will play for someone other than the Rockets next year.

Agreed.

The only way we lose Posey is if some team under tha cap offers serious bucks (40+ million). We would love Chi to offer Posey a contract starting at 3 million--we just match it and have a bargain.

Posey is staying, almost bank on it.

'Dude...all I said was that someone from the medi told my brother(in the media as well) what he has heard. Im not full of anything, just reporting what someone who has credibility said. Not a big deal.

Oh yeah... Man we wont loose Posey. It is just business going on now. He wants to sign back hear, the dude lived here even before he was a Rocket.

He and his agent are just being smart, the Rockets offered him the 2.45m or whatever it was so now they get an offer from another team in order to bulk up his pay day a little from the Rockets. Just business going on now. No big deal, relax everyone.

I would rather have Rice than Nachbar, who can't even match up in a poor man's summer league. Now we know why he didn't get time last year.... :p

Rockets will have to pony up and find a starting poward if Posey leaves...or just be extremely weak at one position. Those are the two options.

Like someone else mentioned, at least it would give Nachbar a chance to prove whether he is a keeper once and for all.

Pippen is going to sign a 2 year deal with Chicago on Monday according to ESPN News...

Looks like Posey has less leverage now.
