I figure the 10a would be the most packed, so I'm going to the 11a one.
Why do you have to wait until tomorrow?

This movie better be top five of all time, or I will be seriously dissapointed!

Early reviews basically say to lower your expectations or you will be disappointed. I'm not sure I've seen a review that says it's better than the first yet.

Wow. I go to movies on opening day all the time, never really thought much about it.

But I am not going to this one on opening day. For one, Thursday is just not a movie day for me.

But more importantly, I wasn't impressed with the first one. My problem is that I didn't see it until it came out on video, at which point all the fanboys had creamed over it and overhyped it to the point of ridiculousness. In that state, it was impossible not to be underwhelmed.

So, I've not been what you'd call a fan of The Matrix (plus, I hate that Toyota car called the Matrix).

But I'm willing to give it another try, but not until I see the original for a second time and get refreshed on the concepts, etc.

It may well be, though, that I never see 'em. (I've yet to see the Lord of Rings stuff or the Harry Potter stuff, and I don't feel my life is any worse off because of it).

Funny, because I won't watch a movie if I don't like a particular actor or actress. So I didn't watch the Matrix until last year when I came over to my friends house and he had it on.

I enjoyed it so much that I don't want to miss the big screen version of the sequel.

    Please don't be a disappointment. :)

So far, all the reviews I've read have said that the movie is underwhelming and "meh." Therefore, I'm anxious to hear the reviews of normal moviegoers. Just, please, put a SPOILER warning before you mention something specific in the movie. I'll be in LA this weekend (finally, the NFL rookie shoot!), so I'll have to wait...

Opening night at big movies like this bites. You have so many people talking, clapping, cheering, etc. that huge parts of the dialogue are washed out. People walking, moving everywhere. Cell phones ringing off the hook.

Oh, and there's always that one idiot w/ a laser pointer, pointed right at Trinity's tit or Neo's crotch for 2.5 hours...

What will be even more interesting is the comparison between Matrix 2 and T-3. T-3 is getting no respect right now. So expectations are really really low. And it may turn out to be the better film of the two. I think we would be stupid to underestimate Terminator 3 even though Cameron is not directing it. It's just as interesting in terms of story line. But nobody seems to care about it anymore. Matrix 2 on the other hand has really high expectations. So it's gotta be good or else. Ought to be an interesting summer to say the least. I'll be interested to see which film is better.

The problem is, much like The Two Towers, you can't necessarily take Matrix: Reloaded by itself. It's the middle movie in a trilogy, and it ends with a cliffhanger. It's very hard to judge on its own, especially without having the third movie to compare to. Sure, you can definitely say if you liked it or not, but for all we know, Revolutions may clear up any confusing parts of Reloaded or even make it better. Therefore, I'm reserving final judgment until later this year. The only review and opinion I can give will be knee-jerk in reaction. As for T3, it is a pure sequel with a clear beginning, middle, and end (i.e. a different kind of sequel), so I don't think it's comparable to Reloaded, the movie. You can compare hype levels and compare the two franchises with together, but that's about it.

The tone of buzz surrounding T3 has gone from putrid to pretty good in the last few months. I'll be interested to see how it does at the box office. Now, will I see it? Probably. But it's not high on my list of movies to see.

From what I've heard, the video game has some cut scenes in there that will explain some confusing parts of Reloaded and vice versa.

As for annoying ppl at movies, that's why I'm going tomorrow at 11a. :D

Hopefully all the kids are still asleep or in school. Are kids still in school right now?

Ditto. That's what I wanted to post. The storylines will be left dangling for six months.

People are going into this movie with unreal expectations. But I can't talk. When LOTR - Return of the King comes out, I'll be the one saying, "This better be the best movie of all time, or someone up in here's gonna get cut."

I am going to the 10pm showing at Studio 30 on Dunvale tonight. The reviews on the net are pretty much "bleh" and dont expect too much. Dont forget to stay after the credits for a trailer for Revolutions. I remember when I went to see Back to the Future 2, and stayed after the credits to see the trailer for part 3, awww the memeories. :D
