The Rockets need a perimeter threat to compliment Steve and Yao, some of us feel Boki can fill that role in time, who can do it now? James Posey will make 6mil a yr, so I suggest sign and trade him to Memphis for Wesley Person (Ending Contract) and since they need a big man trade Cato to get Wright and Battier. We'll probably have to take other players to make it work capwise but it would make sense for both teams. Memphis needs a legit center and could clear some of the logg jam at the 2 and 3. For the last couple of seasons, Memphis has shown that they don't want Battier and/ or Swift. Not knowing the exact cap figures you could sign Posey to a larger deal and get possibly in return 2 to 3 players to finish your roster.l
Battier and Swift are improving and are going to be legit players in this league and Wright has allready proven himself a legit pf/c. There is no way the Grizz make a deal involving even one of them for Cato much less all three.
Pay attention!! Posey already signed the offer sheet. Its to late for a S&T. We still could work something out w/ Mem though. They do need a center and have extra backcourt players that could help us. Memphis trades: SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes) PG Brevin Knight (3.9 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 4.2 apg in 16.9 minutes) PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes) SF Shane Battier (9.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 30.6 minutes) Memphis receives: SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.7 minutes) C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.5 minutes) Change in team outlook: -12.2 ppg, -0.1 rpg, and -5.5 apg. Sounds great, but I don't know if making a Grizzlies-Rockets All star team is the way towards a championship team.
I thought we determined during the Brand fiasco that a S&T was still possible after one signs the initial offer sheet. Am i mistooken?
