Now that dallas has antoine walker and a huge logjam in the front court, do you think they would give up jamison and would we be interested???

60 days, I believe, from date of trade for Jamison.

Finley to be traded for a 5?

Mavs send LaFrentz, first-round pick to Celtics
08:53 AM CDT on Monday, October 20, 2003

By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News

The Mavericks continued to reshape their roster early Monday when they acquired Antoine Walker and Tony Delk from the Boston Celtics, president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said.

Headed to Boston are Raef LaFrentz and two players acquired in the off-season trade with Golden State, Jiri Welsch and Chris Mills. The Mavericks also included their 2004 first-round draft pick to sweeten the deal.

Wow, Antoine Walker was traded to Dallas for next to nothing. All those east coast writers always loved to build him up into one of the elite forwards in the game. And in the end he gets traded for Raef Lafrentz. Hilarious!!

    Exactly. :D

Before this thread gets moved, just what Dallas needs...a 3 point shooting power forward.

You have gotta be kidding me... Dallas traded for Walker??? The Mavs are going to average an insane amount of 3 pt attempts. And why the hell would they trade away one of their few halfway decent centers for another jack-happy pf?? On the flip side, LaFrentz on the Celtics should be interesting.

I personally think they'll implode... WAY to many ego's on that freaking squad. IF it wasn't for their bench last year, they wouldn't have gotten very far in the playoffs. NVE was their SPARK. Well guys, the spark is gone. Mark my words, Dallas is and will be the most overrated team in the league. It just won't work.

Dallas just traded tall soft for shorter soft. At least Reaf could block a few shots.

When does Walkers contract run out?

Okay can somebody explain what the heck is going on?

I dont understand why teams are pretty much giving up their franchise players for pretty much notihng.

Dirk Nash Finley Walker Jaminson? Are you kidding me? That has to be the best offense ever assembled. I hate the Mavericks more than anybody but they are absoultely scary. 96 Bulls better watch out this team could possibly top 72 W's

It may be just to accrue as many offensive-powerhouse tradeable assets as possible. It is just more bargaining chips for this year and next offseason. That is the only sense I can make of it.

To equate this 100% offense, no defense team with the 96 Bulls is ludicrous. No offense, but this team lost more than it gained. And if anyone thinks any of those forwards is going to play center, well, I've got some real estate in ................

Not saying that this trade would help the Mavs, but the number of extremely one sided blockbuster deals this summer has been astounding. Stern ought to impose a rule that you can't trade stars for junk when over the cap or something. You have a few really good teams playing a bunch of crap. This basically wipes any semblance of competition in the NBA.
