Really curious to see how Ghostbuster's looks after all the uncertainty of it even being finished. Nice to see the original cast chipping in. Prototype had me interested a few months ago, but after buying inFamous I'll pass. I'm sure there are differences, but it looks too similar for me to go spend another $60 on it.
I've been waiting for Prototype since the the first time I heard about it, like 2 years ago. But for some reason I am not interested anymore. The gameplay vids I have seen, don't really impress me. I will probably still pick it up in a couple weeks.
It's kinda on topic, but I picked up Final Fantasy IV: The Afteryears on Wii-ware, and it was pretty fun until I realized that square only released 3 chapters out of 9 possible ones, and getting all of them at the end will cost a lot of wii points So if you are a FFIV fan like me, you can't miss this, but just prepared to throw a lot of money at Square Enix's direction like I used to with FFXI....
Hey RC: More PS1 Classics "announced". Final Fantasy Tactics and Street Fighter Alpha 3 both rated by the ESRB. Pretty insane we are getting FF Tactics right now considering that it wasn't a big, mainstream hit from Square, it has a PSP port already, and it was only released in the Japanese PS store like a month or so ago. Does this mean I can get my hopes up for Xenogears now? (Another non-mainstream Square game that is already released on the Japanese store.)
Red Faction: Guerrilla looks cool. Did he review the PS3 or 360 version? I remember one time I bought a game that was awesome on 360 but I played it on the ps2 and it totally sucked.
I would think so... I don't think Xenogears even qualifies as "non-mainstream" anymore... it's one of those that grew greatly in popularity years after its release.
Yeah, you're probably right. It's tough for me to classify which Square games are non-mainstream. Might as well just say "non-FF" instead.
FFT has a bit more going for it than Xenogears (better sales, part of the FF IP that is still ongoing, not as controversial IIRC, etc.), but sure, I could see Xenogears possibly being considered. Of course, the biggest thing is what does Square-Enix think about it? This is the same company that doesn't understand why so many people like Chrono Trigger.
The thoughts of Square-Enix and SCEA are what I'm trying to pin down. We received FF7 and now have an ESRB rating for FF Tactics all within the span of a month. Does this mean that SCEA just wants to bring over all of Square games that already exist on the overseas store? Does it mean the US PS Store is going to get continued support with Square games (I was pretty sure I read an article within that past month that says SE plans to release more of their PS1 games on the Japanese PSN). Hard to say at this point, as it really is nothing more than speculation. I guess it shouldn't surprise me too much if it gets released, considering that it was a PS1 Greatest Hits game, after all, and that they are putting more of an emphasis on these games because of the PSP Go. If it isn't released, I've been considering buying a used copy at some point. It seems to me that they could eventually get most of the more in-demand games from their Greatest Hits label onto the PSN eventually, which I estimate falls in the area of 75-100 games.
Tomorrow afternoon I will indulge my inner Venkman. The game demos look impressive, fun and gotta love the soundtrack. This wont be Ghostbusters for the NES.
Is the Conduit the last chance for the Wii to be a serious gaming platform? Really, this is Nintendo's MGS4; much like that was the game that was going to decide whether the PS3 could catch up to Microsoft this generation, the Conduit must be the game that proves to developers that a serious action shooter can and does sell on the Wii. My feeling? It's going to be an awesome, critically acclaimed game that I can pick up for $20 in a bargain bin in August after it sells 100,000 total copies for the summer. At least we have Mario Galaxy 2 though, right?
How was it? I never get games as soon as they come out anymore, but being a huge fan of the movie (at least the first one) coming out I'm considering breaking that rule
