We've watched the Texans replace higher priced players for younger, less expensive guys. But to what level of real on field improvement?

We're now seeing teams cutting their salary cap problems, and June 1st looms nigh.

So, how much cap room, if any, do the Battle Redmen have?

I don't think we saved a lot of money THIS season by cutting guys like Glenn and Sharper because we're still eating their bonus money. However we have saved enough cap space to make a run at some one if we really thought they could improve the team. I think we're much more likely to wait until next offseason and sign a couple of big name free agents.

Remember that although we are more than 7 million under the cap now, the vast majority of that will be used to sign our draft picks.

Not that I recall, we did sign a couple of big free agents last offseason in Robaire Smith and Todd Wade.
