They have only released the numbers in Canada but the US sales should come out tomorrow. I'll update the top post when it does. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6177076.html?action=convert&om_clk=latestnews&tag=latestnews;title;0 I would be suprised if the 360 doesn't retake the lead for the rest of the fiscal year once Halo 3 comes out.

what is the conventional wisdom as to who is still buying PS2's? Is this a replacement set, or are these for Amish people? Or is it like when your parents are out buying stuff for you when you are a kid so they just pick the first thing they see on the shelf (I played many a lousy game on Sega Geneisis/Nintendo/C64 my mom and dad picked out for me at christmas, god bless'em....) I am partially kidding but somewhat serious.
There is a large market who are even more 'casual' than what the term is usually used for. It's why the used game money is so big. They have video games for the kids (or themselves) but aren't going to spend much money (or time) on it. They are usually looking for the cheapest solution above all else. I do find it interesting that the numbers for NCAA for 360 are in relation to PS2. I think that's a big indicator of what the 'mainstream' is going to do. Also interesting that with some game releases and a price drop the PS3 still couldn't pass up the 360. Kind of surprised by that (for July)
