Saw this little blurb in the paper:

    http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/3287343

" Blazers come to terms with Dixon — Free agent Juan Dixon has agreed to a three-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, ending his three-year stay with the Washington Wizards.
The contract cannot be formally announced by the team until the NBA's collective bargaining agreement is ratified, which is expected early next week."

It has always seemed to be a foregone conclusion that DS was definitely on his way out of Portland, this news just kind of seals the deal.

However, it probably does mean that, if we do a deal with the Blazers, it probably will not include one of our 'rotation' guards.. if any at all, it would be Ward or Mooch.. and/or Baker or Spoon. Problem with THAT, of course, is that we would then be even MORE overflowing with guards, especially if Derek Anderson is part of a deal..

Anyway, I am kind of in the same group with the other people here who are not all that keen on landing DS. However, ultimately, my confidence is in whatever JVG decides he wants. He has proven himself to be a good evaluator of the kind of talent that makes his teams work well. So if JVG says he definitely wants DS, then if we land him, I will have to take that as a good thing.

So does Portland getting Dixon make it more likely, or less likely, that we land DS? How does it affect our ability to consummate a S&T with the Blazers? Or does anyone really think it is possible that our pipe-dream could happen and DS just comes here for the LLE? hehehe wouldn't THAT be a hoot!
