    Attention journalists and headline editors:
Stop using the phrase, "Houston, we have a problem."

Just stop it. Stop. First off, you don't even have it right. It's, "Houston, we've had a problem." Second, it was only funny/interesting/pithy the first time someone used it after Apollo XIII. So stop. Just stop it.

Is anyone else bothered by these crappy clichés?

There are also variations of that quote that get old too.

I think people from Houston complaining about others using that phrase has become a bothersome cliché.

This is refreshing. I've never heard anyone complain about this. Thanks for bringing this up.

It bugs me too. Mostly because whenever someone uses it, they assume they are being original.

Oooo! I got one. How about when journalists have a story about someone related to Houston, and they say "Houston, we have a problem." ? Man, I hate that.

Do you know about any other "Journalism Cliché"?
