Signing him doesn't mean we can't get Goran...

We need a 4 that can guard power forwards like Blake,Aldridge, Dirk, and Duncan. Smith can do that. Smith n Howard in the paint and noone is getting easy layups.

That's why your not the gm of any nba team.
    TOT 11 yrs 15.4 7.8 3.3

Points, rebounds and assist. He's got flaws but he's not bad. This is a steal for two million. If anything he cAn be the defensive anchor all g Howard. Not to mention even the ability to somewhat guard lebron james and etc. Put him at pf, make him chill on the threes and jumpshots and let him work with Hakeem and Mchale. He can play three diffrent positions and is obviously better turn Dorsey and black and had better stats and playoff experience then jones and dmo.

Has Smith played on a contender before? Put him on a team that is and lets see what he can/will do.

Is Josh Smith a good pick and roll player?

Thing with Josh Smith is, he is clearly at his best at PF. He won't get SF minutes on the Rockets with Ariza, Brewer and Kpap on the roster. Detroit was foolish to play him SF minutes. Doomed from the start. Smith would get slotted at PF and provide rim protection with Dwight Howard.

I think the only thing that is a question mark right now is if Smith is going to be humbled enough to do the right things for this team, which is never shoot a jump shot, focus 90% of his energy on defense, and finish fast breaks

if he can consistently do that and not let his ego get out of control, we will be a scary defensive team in every position

plus now we can flip dmo or Jones and the pick for Dragic

Do you understand the words you said : 2 years ago?

Morey gave Lin a 25 mils contracts and 2 years later gave him away with our own first round pick also.

For those against us signing Josh Smith, who else are you going to use the BAE on? The ONLY cost to adding him is cutting Dorsey (a $1 million cap hit next summer) and $2 million per year for the next two years. That is pennies in the modern NBA.

How is this a debate? Josh Smith for $2 million + Dorsey's contract (to the cap) is a ridiculous value. At worst, he doesn't work out, and rides the bench. What's Dorsey doing?

The price is so low that we would be silly not to try. Again, FOR HIS PRICE, the potential upside is way too high to ignore.

This isn't going to stop you from going for Goran. J.Smith is a stretch 4 that does well with other stars around him. I can promise you that you're tune will change in as little as 1 week with Smith in your rotation over Dorsey.

Funny because I feel like if Smith landed with the Spurs or Mavs a lot of people here would think it was game over for our Championship aspirations yet the idea of him coming here has (the same?) folks acting like he has the plague.

What does that have to do with what I said and what I commented on? I said how will it be a shock if Morey signs Smith. It shouldn't be a shock to you if Morey signs because he has pursued him in the past and is currently doing so...
