I say yes -- dude makes only 13.5 per year, is a beast on defense, and would be able to actually play his position of PF. I would rather have him at 13.5 than Parsons at 15+ per -- not that it is an either or between those two -- just saying for comparison sake.
no. i like him and think he's criminally underrated, but doesnt fit on this team. as a super 6th man yeah but not for 13mil per season
He would fit right in as he plays nearly identical to T. Jones (just much better defensively). The biggest problems are a)his ridiculous salary and b)he can't shoot. He would help us but I'd prefer a 4/5, like Pau, to solve the backup center problem.
Is it just me or has Josh Smith's defense declined? He used to be in the DPoY discussion, I've seen him guard the likes of Carmelo and even Demarcus Cousins for entire quarters with more success than anyone I can think of. Now he's just good but not great, and we all know his offense is not anything to go home bragging to mom about. With all that being said, his contract makes me cringe.
He's not my ideal choice, but we have to move on with a scenario that could net us a defensive upgrade over Jones and allows us to retain Parsons. Josh's salary is comparable to reach this goal.
I think he is only making 13.5 per. Considering what people are getting paid this off season, that is a good value in my opinion.
i'd take it but what's the trade? we can't just pluck the guy from the heap. jones for smith? detroit probably wouldn't bite. this suuuuuuuuccccckkkkss
