Never saw him play live, but seeing all these current NBA players going to him is amazing. <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Bqny1IUa2Wc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Bqny1IUa2Wc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Josh Smith and The Dream working out together in that gym and those kids watching don t seem too enthused.. Looks like they are waiting for them to finish so they can finished their pick up game.. I wonder if they realize who is on the court..
Pretty amazing that a guy not far off from his 50th birthday still looks smoother and more coordinated than a 20-something year old super-freak of an athlete. One thing I always loved about Dream's spin is how much ground he covers with it. Most guys do these tight spin moves to get away or partially around a defender. Dream's spin would get him away from you, completely around you and on the other side of the paint from you before you could blink.
I watched this video like 10 times over and over, he is still smooth as silk. I think he would make an excellent asst coach but Ive heard he prefers more 1on1 training than to a group (could have sworn I heard him say this on an interview before).
Hell Yeah, Dream should be working out with Carl Landry! That would elevate Landry's game so much! Also, I know this is a pipe dream, but could you imagine Anthony Randolph working with Dream??
With all of those fancy moves I'm surprised a 17 year old TOF hasn't come in here suggesting we sign whoever this Dream Olajuwan guy is.
do you think he could still play in this league. Say 5-7 mins again? i think so, his spin move is still very quick and his fade aways are money. *sigh just a dream for the dream
No...the finesse is still there but the explosiveness and power are gone. He'd get hurt in under 10 games. Seeing this video and how great he looks is a testament to his greatness during the champsionship years. Most all-stars can not do what he can do at 45. Amazing.
Agreed, no way he could bang down low anymore. But, when I watch this video it is amazing to think this guy is 45 years old. He still has balance and body control. These guys aren't going full speed in the video, but imagine how much quicker and crisper those moves were 15-20 years ago. Then combine that with the power and strength he had...I just shake my head. He had so much finesse, but then would just go right through/over a guy too. Amazing.
Still so quick for his age....stil silky smooth on the jumper. Why the Rockets don't have him as at least a consultant is beyond me. DD
